Drawn from the Undertow

[Instrumental]

We're back! Ty shows up partway through and Luke's audio sounds awful because we had a hell of a time getting this episode recorded, but WE'RE BACK. Let's talk about a shitty little bullshit man!

GENERAL CONTENT WARNING: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is often a crass series that incorporates a wide variety of fraught subject matter, and prioritizes using that fraught material for high drama and unconventional action scenes over approaching the subjects with appropriate care or consideration. We'll include more specific content warnings when covering especially rough episodes, but as a baseline, assume that most topics are handled with insufficient levels of sensitivity. Also, JJBA is a show that heavily features bloody violence and body horror.

Just as was prophesied in our previous encoded message, we're back with another Book Club (which we have rebranded on-the-fly to Media Club) to cover the sci-fi movie Contact, directed by Robert Zemeckis. It's a movie that inspired Iris' character, Haley Holst, and she's joined by Fabby, Crystal, and Maxie to talk about its cool cinematography and visual effects, messy handling of religions and skepticism, and downright infuriating romance subplot.

(Hi folks, Luke here. We've had some scheduling conflicts this month, which have unfortunately kept us from getting an episode of Playlist recorded. We initially recorded this for the $10 tier, but we've decided to release it on the $3 tier instead as a mea culpa. Enjoy!)
