  • Episode 32: How Can My Past Trauma Help Me Become the Best Version of Myself? - Interview with Tracey Jones

"We all know people who garner a great sense of meaning even in the most unpleasant circumstances. …Their pain is real; their sense of doing something truly meaningful is substantial. They demonstrate how our ingrained desire to believe that our lives have purpose beyond our life span drives us to work extra hard, even to the point of personal suffering, in order to gain more meaning. —Dan Ariely

To move past trauma, you must begin to shift your belief from a victim mindset into a creator mindset.  The difference is that a victim believes things happen to them and they have no control over their future.  A creator believes that they have the power to turn their mess into their message and move past it, creating a new outcome for themselves.  Although you may have been a victim in the incident, you do not need to continue to choose to remain a victim by living in the victim mindset.

When you are living in a victim state of mind you are not taking responsibility for your life or your emotions, you are blaming others for the way you are & feel sorry for yourself. When you are living in a creator state of mind you are stepping up to take the necessary responsibilities and actions to improve your life.

Listen to Tracey Jones on how his past trauma made him the person he is right now.  See how he was able to overcome his obstacle to create resilience.  This way, he continues to bounce back from the crazy things life throws at him!

  • Episode 26: Is Giving a Person a Second Chance Good or Bad? - Interview with Morne Reichert

When someone who's hurt you wants to come back into your life, deciding what to do next isn't easy. Should you give them a second chance or not? If you still have feelings for them, giving it, another go may seem worth it. Sometimes people will make the most out of a second chance and end up staying together. Others won't take another chance because they are afraid that it might not turn out the way you want.

Everyone's situation is different, and some people can make a second chance at love work. More often than not, people go back to exes for all the wrong reasons. I find the idea isn't rooted in well-adjusted behavior and awareness; rather, it's rooted in fear and loneliness.

But if your genuine intention is to improve yourself and willing to work for real change, and see a future with one another, then why not?

Listen to Morne Reichert, from Pretoria, South Africa, who has gone through with this struggle and turned out to be a relationship coach.  He is now a human behavioral strategist and entrepreneur whose passion is to help people become the best version of themselves.

  • Episode 25: When I Stopped Searching for Love, Love Found Me - Interview with Ayana Miller

The statement "love finds you when you stop looking".  Is this true?

"I craved deep connection. I wanted to feel loved."

I know a lot of us have experienced a traumatic experience during our childhood years which includes not experiencing real love.  That is the reason why a lot are craving for the love that they want because they have not experienced this with their family members, spouses, boyfriends, classmates who won't include you in their circle of friends, and even the society because of your race.  This then impacted how you see yourself.  You feel inferior, not motivated to build deeper and meaningful relationships, unable to find the job that can give you more stability, bullied, unappreciated and being rejected.

I am sure a lot of negative thoughts will just run through your mind.  When you believe nobody truly loves you, you feel alone, unloved and unwanted.  When you allow yourself to dwell on those feelings, you feel even worse about yourself and your life.

Listen to Ayana Miller, from Trinidad and Tobago, who struggled with this but reached a point in her life to make the decision to stand up and fix herself.  She was at her rock bottom wherein she cried and cried a lot and had no one to share her emotions to anyone.  She just kept it to herself.

  • Episode 24: How Can I Be a Bridge to Different Industries from Different Cultures? - Interview with Betty Chen

Culture barriers present a problem at all levels within businesses, and not just for employees working overseas. Misunderstandings are a common cause of friction between colleagues within multinational teams, while those dealing with overseas markets may struggle to understand clients’ needs. At the very highest levels of business, there is a shortage of senior managers who can lead in a multicultural context.

With the globalization of business, the ability to manage or work with people from different cultures is becoming a career skill in its own right.

In modern businesses, understanding how to bridge cultural gaps among various diverse groups is key. The better we understand how to maneuver delicately, the less misunderstanding would occur. Thus, more engagement is expected, and more productivity would result.

But how can professionals learn to bridge the divide?  Listen and discover how Betty Chen, who is the founder and owner of BuonX Branding Consultancy, was able to be the bridge and connected the industries globally to Asia and beyond.
