Greig Pickhaver or better known as HG Nelson is one of the all-time great Australian comedians, broadcasters and TV presenters. HG’s partner in crime for the past 35 years has been John Doyle or Rampaging Roy Slaven and together formed a dynamic duo as “Roy & HG.”
Roy & HG spent 22 years on Triple JJJ radio together, before moving to Triple MMM to host – The Sporting Probe, as well as appearing for 126 episodes on television with their show Club Buggery. Perhaps where Australia as a Nation really got to experience the hilarious pair was on Channel 7’s program ‘The Dream’ during the broadcast of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
Roy & HG had us all in stitches with special comments of the Olympic sports, including gymnastics, such as the spinning date, battered sav, the flat bag, honey I’m home and of course, hello boys!
In this episode HG gives an incredible insight into what made the duo successful, how they solved problems, looked at sport from a different angle and how it is important to know your role.
Although always ready to have a laugh, HG also shares some inspiring messages, particularly about having no regrets in life, taking risks and making the most of the opportunities.
