Here is Dreams of Consciousness Podcast Episode 132, featuring an interview with J.J. Anselmi, the author of Doomed to Fail: The Incredibly Loud History of Doom, Sludge, and Post-Metal.
J.J. Anselmi's expertise on the subject of doom metal can't be overstated. Not only is he a writer whose work has appeared in Vice, Revolver, and the AV Club, he was the original drummer and co-founder of In The Company of Serpents, and performed on their ultra-sludgy debut.
I spoke to J.J. about his own musical journey, and the genesis of his book, Doomed To Fail. I also put the doom metal expert on the spot and asked him to name his top ten albums from the genre.
My thanks to J.J. for speaking to me, and to you for listening.
