Someone has to fight the war against the war on China. We have to explain the incentives driving the propaganda campaign to garner public support for a war against the CCP. We are going to continue to illustrate the relatively mild threat this gay ass virus presents most people, while also fighting propaganda that hopes to mobilize the American people for a Fourth Turning World War. Here's hoping someone listens, or a merman I should turn to be...

The Chinese government is pure evil, we have been speaking out against them all year, but we try to soften the jingoistic rhetoric on the right and neoliberal left that will lead to a disastrous war if public sentiment supports it. We also dump a bundle of studies supporting what we have been saying since the first rumblings of this totalitarian earthquake.

As we all slip into quarantine fueled insanity, Miguelito joins us on the House Party app for virtual dive bar char.

Grab the rope, hold on tight.

The last week was likely the worst the US will see as a result of Covid-19, and we go through a bunch of early indications that the technocrats patting themselves on the back may be full of shit. We make the case for massive antibodies testing for research purposes, to clarify the scope of infection, not to create a massive surveillance regime to make a license to go outside enforceable.

How crazy would it be to compare this pandemic to the flu? We compare the government reaction to COVID-19 to the most deadly pandemic since the Black Plague, the flu. How crazy would it be to oppose the abolition of liberal principles in a crisis? We try to explain why abandoning liberal principles will cause destruction that this virus, or any virus, is incapable of causing. We keep living while the hive is busy dying. We are locked down just like you are, so this is some kind of chat in these conditions. Is the philosophical position that decisive executive government action, in a crisis, is usually effective an ideological presupposition? Who is the skeptic and who is going commando?

The captives of authoritarian dystopias of the 20th century all watched a response to a crisis shape the character of the regimes that would dominate them for years. The burning of the Reichstag, the attempted assassination of Lenin, and omnipresent threat of reactionary forces throughout the communist world served as excuses for unprecedented control that was never voluntarily relinquished.

The state has closed our bars, prohibited our friends from doing business, and destroyed the economy in reaction to a fairly routine pandemic. We will drink defiantly, with purpose and pistols, and call them assholes.

Authoritarians love storms, crime waves, and earthquakes. They also love diseases. Why not piss on their estates for buying all the toilet paper?
