Move over Hazy IPAs, Mexican Lager is *the* trending beer of the craft beer scene for Summer 2024. (Don’t sleep on those Guava Sours, though…)

The first episode of 2024 is finally here! (Recorded… a while back. But let’s ignore that part.)
“2024 is awesome so far. I feel like that comment is not gonna age well.”
“I was double-fisting Goose and cran and my hands were never empty.”
“I need cameras on this show!”
We’ve had this one brewing for a while, pun intended!! Better late than never… right? Look, we are late to the party for the year but we showed up and that’s what matters. Okay, enough of that.
This episode features a fruited sour from a local brewery that we are absolutely gaga for – Crowns & Hops, which is Black-owned, Woman-owned, Veteran-owned, and dare we say… owning the craft beer space?
And we finally nabbed Acquah Dansoh, who regales us with tales of sneaking his first sip of beer, the chokehold that Heineken has on Ghana, and drinking... Zimas! Acquah dives into his journey to becoming a craft beertender and why you should ask your bartender more questions. No, really, ask questions. You just might find a drink you actually love!
He also tries to convince us to become YouTubers, and one of us was not having it…
BEER RATINGS *SPOILER ALERT*
Keryl – 4.5
Jamie – 4
Acquah – 2.5

Happy Holidays from the Biddies!!!
“Statistically people drink the most in Wisconsin and BOY do they let you know it!”
“I like the specialness of Christmas music. The fact that it only comes around every once in a while, like the McRib.”
For the first time since 2016, we welcome Grant Lyon back on the pod. Because when we think Christmas, we think Grant. Tune in for some Christmas tunes, Big Dad Energy, and some really big New Beers Resolutions (TM pending). Of course, we couldn’t say farewell to 2023 without a proper tribute to Anchor Christmas Ale. After a monumental 127 years, Anchor Brewing closed in 2023. We shed some tears, share some beers, and promise to cherish every brew with you. Be safe, and as always… thanks for drinking!
BEER RATINGS *SPOILER ALERT*
Keryl – 3.5
Jamie – 3.25
Grant – 2.5 (GRINCH!!!)

Happy Halloween! (close enough)
JAMIE: We should build a cannon in the shape of a giant beer and then we use the propulsion of the beer… to launch the pumpkin.
KERYL: I don’t think Jamie ever took physics.
BEN: Growing up a lot of my costumes were dictated by what my sister wanted to be. I was the Beast for like three years because she wanted to be Belle.

“You two gals inspired us to think about the beer universe more.”
“It’s as exciting to have a really great beer as it is a really fantastic bottle of wine.”
We’ve had dads of the pod, siblings of the pod, but on Episode 72 we finally land a Mom-of-the-Pod… she needs no introduction, but she got one anyway… the one, the only, Jackie Tunkel!
Jamie’s mom joins us for a blonde ale and regales us with tales of sipping sangria and singing at the bar back in her day. We discuss the very eye-catching label design and Jackie’s journey into the craft beer world, which was inspired by the Biddies.

“I’m Hocus Pocus Shmocused!”
“The guy that married us came out of a coffin.”
Happy Halloween from the Biddies! This episode features our first (but certainly not our last) 100 percent gluten-free beer. Guest Tierney Drach – yes, that’s “Drach as in Dracula” – joins us for our annual spooky Halloween episode. And they might just be Halloween’s number 1 fan, so it’s a match made in… hell. (Get it? Get it?) No, seriously, Tierney got married at a haunted house in Vegas and tells us all about it! Plus we discuss the plot of the original Hocus Pocus and our best Halloween costumes.
