1 John 4:18 tells us that perfect love casts out fear. We often fear approaching God, specifically because we know that He knows everything about us. We are afraid of judgement or punishment. But as we approach God in Jesus Christ, there is no punishment, simply redemption. Perfect love casts out fear.
