NATIONAL ABSINTHE DAY
March 5th is also known as National Absinthe Day. This day is for those who are 21 years or older to celebrate a drink called absinthe.
Often mistaken for a liqueur, it is truly a spirit because it isn’t sweetened. It belongs to the vodkas, gins, and whiskeys when categorizing absinthe.
The spirit is made by infusing wormwood, fennel, anise, and other herbs into alcohol through distillation. Pierre Ordinaire, a French doctor, is credited with the creation of absinthe. He developed and prescribed the elixir in the early 19th century as a cure for many illnesses.

Straws and other plastics cause harm to marine life in many ways. Birds, fish, and other sea life consume plastics accidentally or when they mistake it for food. Plastics don’t biodegrade. 2011 Taco Bell Fights Beef Accusations
The fast food chain Taco Bell begins an advertising campaign defending the beef it uses in its food after being sued over the alleged use of additives and false advertising. A class-action lawsuit against the company accused Taco Bell of selling food labeled as meat when it only contained 35% beef. The company countered that the beef products they use contain 88% beef and are inspected by the USDA.

1976 - Terrorist Bombs London

1976 : Twelve bomb have been exploded in London's West End during the night, most of Oxford Street is closed for the rest of the day while searches by the bomb squad continue for more bombs. The IRA later admitted it had planted the bombs as part of it's campaign against the British government.

1929: New "Dry Bill" (Alcohol Prohibition) being Introduced to Congress

A new "dry bill" was introduced to the congress on this day (Jan 22, 1929) by Senator Bryant. The purpose of this bill was to place stiffer penalties on both buyers and sellers of alcoholic beverages, which were prohibited during this time in American History.
Those who possessed liquor would receive a fine for the first offense between $50.00 to $500.00.
Which in todays money that would be between $761.62 to $7,616.20

Those who were caught a second time with liquor on them would be fined $250.00 to $2,000.00. And I think 2k in our day would come out to be around $30,464.80

Three people were arrested by police in Quebec for a multi-million dollar maple syrup theft. The thieves stole syrup, as well as syrup-making equipment and police, believe that five other suspects were involved and had not been caught yet.
