This one (1) hour CE course provides the licensed employee benefits advisor with an overview of Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRA) and specifically of “Group HRA” programs. It discusses the history of HRAs and the recent changes to HRAs that are now approved by the IRS. It then looks at some case studies of HRAs for small and large employers and describes the current market for high deductible health plans available for use with an HRA plan. This course examines contemporary methods of self-funded group health benefits. This includes an update of how the Affordable Care Act (ACA) impacted self-funded health plans and a look at the three components of a self-funded plan: Stop Loss Insurance, Third Party Administration and Incurred/Paid Claims. We describe the various self-funding options available to small, mid-sized and large employers and the role of the advisor in helping to set up and manage the self-funded plan.(Course No. 296392)

This one (1) hour CE course provides an update on the latest benefit compliance issues related to employers and the Affordable Care Act. It will cover the continuing definition of an Applicable Large Employer, Minimum Value Coverage standard and Affordability of the coverage as it pertains to the Employer “Shared Responsibility” Mandate of the ACA. It will address any changes made to the above provisions and the enforcement by IRS of Section 4980(H) of the law. This course is registered in the state of California. (Course No. 385511)

This one (1) hour CE course provides the licensed employee benefits advisor with an overview of how group health benefit captives work and why they are growing in popularity with less-than-large employers. The course will provide general information about how a benefit captive works and compare some of the differences between the current captive market today. The course will also lay-out the role of the benefit advisor in helping their clients identify and contract with a benefit captive. This 2 hr. CE course is approved in California. It covers a variety of issues specifically on the various alternative funding options including Group HRA, Level-Funding, Self-Funding, Stop Loss and Benefit Captive programs.  It looks at the product availability by market (small, mid-sized and large group) and the role of the advisor in helping the employers evaluate their risk and benefit in each of the options.
