  • Two Years!
In this mini-episode, Sean, Paul & Mike reflect on two years of doing the podcast: where it started, where it is, and where it's going. More than anything, it's an episode of gratitude for all the listeners out there (like you!). Artists in this episode include Gotye, The Knife and Walk the Moon. • Pride & Ego (Guest: Tommy Rutger)
Friend of the show Tommy Rutger, who was the subject of a feature for The Fix says "silence equals death." That's why he's completely open not only about his drug-addled past but his years-long sobriety. In this episode, Rutger talks about Pride & Ego, sharing songs from artists that include Phish, Grateful Dead, Gov't Mule and Joe Walsh. Also, this week's post-episode outtake is worth listening to, if only to hear Mike quote DMX.

  • Freedom (Guest: Sean Paul Mahoney)
Portland-based recovery writer Sean Paul Mahoney visited our show to discuss the topic of "Freedom" and how the word doesn't simply relate to drugs or alcohol. In this episode, Mahoney shares stories that are simultaneously hilarious, heartfelt and occasionally horrifying. He even made sure that all three of his song choices were as memorable and unique as he is. In addition to writing at his popular blog Seanologues, Mahoney is launching a podcast with the same name, where he talks about pop culture, music, movies, television, travel, sobriety and whatever else he feels like. It's also worth noting that Mahoney is a playwright, tweeter, critic and self-described "smartass for hire." You can follow him at Twitter (@seanpaulmahoney) or find him on Facebook. Artists in this episode include Kacey Musgraves, M83, Sister Sledge, Robyn and (you're reading this correctly) Salt-N-Pepa! Buckle up.

Artists this episode include The Grateful Dead, Eric Clapton, Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers, Dave Matthews Band and Jimmy Cliff.
