This week on the show, I am joined by the musician Phyphr. In this captivating conversation, we talk about all things Hulaween, he takes me back seven years to his first time at Hula (which was also his first ever music festival) and planting the seeds that would manifest this year into his first time at the festival as a performer. Phyphr talks about how he’s getting fans involved in his set, the importance of community, being the catalyst for helping others realize their dreams, one word that describes what Hulaween means to him, the magic & energy of Suwannee Music Park, his favorite Halloween costume as a kid, what he’s got on deck for 2025 (including a show at Cervantes in Denver) and more!

From electric enclave’s artist spotlight published on July 23rd: Phyphr is creating a buzz with his unique blend of electro-soul and funky electronic songwriting. Merging live guitar performances with electronic production, Phyphr brings a vibrant mix of instrumentation and original vocals to the forefront. His musical journey has led him to share stages with renowned acts such as The Floozies, Daily Bread, Manic Focus, SoDown, SunSquabi, and Maddy O’Neal.

Originally from the east coast and now a Denver resident, Phyphr is adding his own twist to the Mile High City’s electronic sound. His dynamic performances have graced festivals including Summer Camp, Cascade Equinox, Hulaween, Gem & Jam, Dreamscape, and Sonic Bloom. Phyphr’s impact has been recognized by various publications, including 303 Magazine, River Beats Dance, Electric Hawk, This Song Is Sick, EDMTunes, and T.H.E Music Essentials.

Phyphr’s most recent album, “Catalyst,” has amassed over 250K streams since its debut in February 2023. “Catalyst Remixed”, a reimagined version, featuring Diskull, zoska, Common Creation and more multi-genre up and coming artists has garnished over 100K streams on Spotify.

His new 3-track EP, “Valley of Death,” explores themes of darkness, light, and rebirth. These songs are crafted to serve as a guiding soundtrack as we navigate the uncharted territories of our lives.

Catch his set at this year's Hulaween on Friday October 25th from 3:30pm – 4:30 pm on The Amphitheatre Stage

This week, Sara J is very excited to welcome back to the show for the third time, Progressive funk rock fusion trio Mosey Beat!

The band discusses creating the intro and outro for the podcast, as well as catching up on their summer. We dive into their new album, "Breakfast for Champions," now available on all major music streaming platforms. They talk about the inspiration behind the album title, the process of bringing the songs to life in Taylor's home studio, the album cover, and the significance of the Fun House in Bethlehem, PA. They also discuss the addition of a new bassist Tommy, who is primarily a guitar player, and how this album represents his exploration of the bass. The band shares their excitement for new and old fans to hear the personal and professional growth reflected in their hard work since their last studio releases, "Day Moon" & "Night Sun." They also touch on their plans for 2025, a recent collaboration with artist Mark Serlo, a cover of "Puppet String," and more.

As host Sara J finishes up discussing the Umphrey's McGee shows in April and May, this week on the show features her conversation with Luke and Rory from lespecial, backstage Saturday afternoon at Solshine Reverie, right after they arrived at the festival grounds.

All sorts of special guests make a cameo during this conversation – see if you can pick them all out. Sara and the guys chat about Luke vs. Stasik back in 2022, the rite of passage enduring the rain and elements at scamp, and the most important piece of advice; never forget the rain boots.

Keeping on brand with current events for the band, we talk about their newest release, Sandwich Cage, embarking on a discussion about their favorite sandwich - we get some pretty hilarious input from our aforementioned special guests.

The guys talk about what they’re excited about coming into this year’s Solshine Reverie: their sets, who they hope to catch, their favorite festival food, and more. We take a little trip down memory lane from their first Summer Camp Music Festival back in '07 attending as fans, to this year and another rite of passage, their first red barn set closing out the festival with a 2 am – 4 am late night rager.

The band’s newest release, the mashup EP, Sandwich Cage, is now available everywhere for your listening pleasure. 🥪
