This week we are joined by the awesome Caleb Tamplin! After a light hearted start sipping on a breakfast can of Monster we get serious as Caleb talks about his recent sobriety, the effect alcohol has had on his professional career and how he is adjusting to realign his musical goals. We also chat about his disdain of wedding gigs and his tactics for a quick set up and getaway, managing the balance of ego and imposter syndrome and his band Cry Sometimes. Enjoy!

Having broken the internet with our Josh Freese parody post about George firing Ben from the show, we chat about George’s recent country festival appearance and the band politics beforehand. Ben also enters his last week at The Old Blacksmiths Studios before he burns it to the ground and found out some interesting stuff when chatting to a spine surgeon. We also briefly discuss the new Oasis drummer and how even playing the main stage at Glastonbury could be boring. Enjoy!

This week we are joined by the wonderful Tom Earl! Tom is co-owner of Groove Garden Studios in Brighton (along with previous guest James Gillingham). Having been kicked out of their previous shared studio they decided to take matters into their own hands and build their own. Still under construction, the studios will provide drum practice rooms of various sizes for hire by the month or hour. Tom filled us in on how things are going there plus we chat about the recent news of Josh Freese’s departure from the Foo Fighters and why pigeons have such bad feet. Enjoy!

After a quick chat about PJ & Duncan and the hazards of paintball we talk about the new Zildjian Kerope ride cymbals and Ben’s ‘faffy’ gig with a troublesome crowd. We also discuss drummers who might be better or worse than we know from their records. Enjoy!

After reminiscing about 90s Friday night TV, George tells us about his busy weekend playing gigs in Chichester and London and taking all the credit for attending the last 20 minutes of a birthday party. We also chat about the recent 150th anniversary Sonor kits at Graham Russell Drums, rawdogging the M1 and visiting Groove Garden Studios. Enjoy!

Step up to the oche and join us for a leg of chat! We reminisce about our time playing darts at the studio including when Ben disrupted one of George’s drum lessons by hitting his first 180. George also witnessed some WWE style action at a wedding and got a back rub from an Adele tribute act. Enjoy!

After looking at the YouTube comments on George’s band’s promo video we chat about our Easter gigs and Easter eggs. Ben got to play darts backstage and George enjoyed being free from the shackles of backing tracks and in-ear monitors. Another gig got messy and inappropriate, Ben’s announced the studio closure and someone found some really, really old cymbals in Oman. Enjoy!

After a quick chat about reels and Ben’s disdain for the English language we hear about George’s busy week playing late gigs in London and swimming with The Hoosiers. Ben’s been to the Portsmouth Music Awards and can’t put his own socks on due to a bad back. Enjoy!

It’s Thursday so who best to get on the show? It’s only the legend that is Tucker Rule! Not only was Tucker the drummer for New Jersey post-hardcore band Thursday, he is now also the drummer for supergroup L.S. Dunes who head off on a US tour this week. Made up of members of Thursday, My Chemical Romance, Coheed & Cambria and Circa Survive, they formed during the pandemic. Their second album ‘Violet’ was released in January 2025. We chat about prepping for tour, recording the new album, and playing live. We also talk about Thursday and their rise from the basements of New Jersey to major label success. Tucker also took a different direction in his career when he played for British boyband The Wanted touring the world and making many TV appearances. Enjoy!

On this week’s show we’re discussing the bold statement from Bernard Purdie about his involvement with The Beatles, the demise of GAK and Lynx Africa and a trip to hospital from eating too much beef. There’s also an unconventional method of reducing overtones with your floor tom, learning ‘Iris’ by the Goo Goo Dolls and clients calling at unsociable hours. Enjoy!
