DRUM ROLL PLEASE

Bryan Birks! No way!

Yes way. We totally spoke to Bryan a couple of months ago, but due to our most excellent work ethic we're only just putting it out now.

We discussed loads of stuff with Bryan, obviously, including shooting portraits of strangers, the highs and lows of large format (and photography in general) and how it affects your mental health, and probably a bunch of other stuff too, I don't know, it's late,

Since we got into photography, Sean Tucker has been a constant source of inspiration. From his stunning brutalist street work mostly in London (unofficially / brilliantly dubbed 'light architecture' by one fan a few years ago), to his more recent softer approach to the streets and countryside of Yorkshire... from his beautifully shot YouTube videos exploring a multitude of topics, to his 2021 book 'The Meaning in the Making', discussing the philosophy around taking a photograph and why...

It's fair to say this was a big deal, and whatever I write here doesn't really go far enough to explain how much of a joy this was to record (despite my face saying otherwise), and how appreciative we were of Sean giving up his evening to talk to us.

If you're a photographer or artist in any other sense, you really should buy his book, it's like the greatest source of inspiration that will make you pick up your camera, paintbrush, drum sticks, or whatever and go out into the world to create something.

For some reason, Sean Tucker kindly gave us an evening of his time to join us on the podcast! He graciously read a chapter from his book, The Meaning in the Making.

The full conversation will be up this weekend, but we wanted to share this reading with you ahead of the episode going live.

We were thrilled to talk to Ritchie, creator of Fuji X Weekly and more recently Ricoh Recipes - both website and app for creating film simulation recipes on the Fuji X and Ricoh GR system.

We discussed how he creates the recipes, what he's got in store for the future and a bunch of other stuff.

If you own any of these cameras and you've never used Ritchie's websites, you definitely need to check them out.

Kyle MacDougall needs no introduction, so here's a quick intro. Host of The Contact Sheet Podcast, photographer and videographer extraordinaire, Kyle is a super awesome person who for some reason decided he wanted to speak to us.

We caught up just before Christmas, and discussed planning your photo shoots, learning about photography in a new country, and loads more.
