Shorty this week. I would apologize, but Nate said to never say we were sorry. We listen to some voicemails and talk about drum sizes, muffling, and seeing good shows.

We talk to Ben Barter from his new home studio in LA about how he’s from New Zealand, building his space, learning to record, playing a lot of electronic triggers with Lorde, his preference is neither, it would be sick to not even have a crash, bleeding from his head during a show, how he got the Lorde gig, Espresso Jazz, Mr. Bean, buying vintage gear, we deep on nostalgia and how it relates to house music, and we do some monitor mix talk.

Our luckiest episode! We talk about all drum parts are the same, Nate has technical difficulties, we go deep on the kick pattern, wood snares are stupid, touring with a sewing machine, we answer some questions, and it gets a little chippy when we talk about the best records from a few bands, and what bands are underrated.

We talk to Josh Eppard from Coheed and Cambria about how they got signed, the only thing that matters is the perfect demo, Woodstock ‘94, being the odd man out in their scene, me and the guys over here at the office, hearing Thursday for the first time, his journey to get sober and re-join the band, he’s one Oreo Pie away from saying “f*ck it,” playing open-handed and tilting his cymbals.
