Drunk On Movies

Back and underneath the bottle! We are drinking Siete Leguas Tequila Blanco, and talking about the 1990 Tony Scott film "Revenge", starring Kevin Costner, Madeleine Stowe, and Anthony Quinn. We are now an evening show so plan accordingly and don't forget to check out Detective Wolfman's new show "On The Beat"!

For our last show we're drinking Shiner Bock Beer with Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon and talking Rio Bravo, Howard Hawks 1959 western starring John Wayne, Dean Martin, Ricky Nelson and Angie Dickinson. Eben joins us again to see us off. Thanks for the ride friends!

Happy Father's Day! In this special episode we're talking about the 1993 Clint Eastwood film, A Perfect World, and we're paring that with whatever the first booze was that you shared with your old man. Instead of going through the history of a particular booze, we shared stories of our fathers. Eben returns to the show to offer up his wisdom and good conversation.

On this episode we're drinking The Four Roses (Single Barrel or Small Batch) and talking Cat Ballou, the 1965 western comedy starring Jane Fonda and Lee Marvin. Thanks for listening!

To start off our Western Summer series we're sipping on the best Mexican cerveza I've ever had, Bohemia Clara, and we are joined by filmmaker Jay Curtis Miller to talk about the 1987 Walter Hill film, Extreme Prejudice.

Perhaps this film is cursed, or perhaps I pre-gamed too hard. It was probably the latter. I showed up drunk, Wolfman's call dropped, and then I passed out during the recording after going on some drunken tirade about the inherent evil of modern day liberals or some such.

At any rate, this episode we watched The Ninth Gate and we're drinking dry sherry, which is produced in Spain, where most of this 1999 Roman Polanski film takes place.

Wolfman never misses and he picked the film this week, a very prescient choice I believe, given Johnny Depps current legal battle.

The process of making sherry and the plot of this film could be described as "labyrinthine" and somewhere along the way I got lost.

I hope you enjoy this episode, and perhaps you get further along in it than I did!

Thanks again for joining us and we'll see you next week! Drink responsibly!

Drunk on Movies has returned! This week Professor Beverage has picked the 1981 Louis Malle film, Atlantic City, starring Burt Lancaster and Susan Sarandon. We're pairing this film with Muscadet, a french white wine from the Loire Valley. Muscadet is light but complex, just like this film. You can pair it with fish or even chicken or just drink it on its own on a hot summer night, its very zesty and refreshing. Thank you for listening!

Jeremy, host of Fleapit After Dark pod, hosted a live show the other week with himself, hosts of "Movies" pod LowRes Wunderbread and Hans, and Detective Wolfman and I to talk about the 1984 New York gem The Pope of Greenwich Village. We had us a hoot and a holler, and we even talked about the movie a little bit. It was a really fun time and I hope it will be something we do regularly.
