In this episode, we discuss the trial of Lucy Letby. Lucy was a NICU nurse in London, who was arrested in 2018 for murdering 7 infants and the attempted murder of 10 other infants. We discuss the details of the accusations and the trial that we are aware of so far, and our thoughts as NICU nurses. It truly breaks our hearts to even imagine a nurse could be capable of so much harm and ending the lives of the innocent babies we care for.
On this week's episode, Emilie and Hannah chatted with Keisha Manning, the creator of NursesBNB! We covered what is NursesBNB, her nursing background, how she came up with the idea to start it, how she started the company in the first place, and also what nursing in Jamaica is like! We loved chatting with her and learning more about NursesBNB and we're so excited to use the website to book our housing for future assignments.
We can't even begin to imagine what NICU parents are feeling--it truly is one of, if not the most, difficult thing they have ever gone through or will go through. In this episode, Hannah and Em talk about things that both NICU parents and NICU nurses can do to help parents feel involved in their baby's care and supported throughout their NICU stay.
Taking a slight detour from your regularly scheduled nursing program to bring you the Jeffrey Dahmer recap that no one asked for but we know everyone wants. Come on, everyone is watching it. Let's talk about it. Happy Spooktober
We chatted with the creators of Lumify in this episode! They really are the brightest lights in the nursing profession. Their optimism, innovation, and belief that the sky is the limit are some of the reasons for Anthony and Jenn's success. It all started with a light, and it evolved into a one stop shop marketplace app for healthcare workers to get all of their essentials for the workplace and beyond. We talk about their nursing backgrounds, how they met, how they came up with the idea for the Unite Light, how their ideas grew into the app, and where they see their company going in the future. We love them and we know you will too. Download the Lumify app today! www.lumifycare.com CODE: dodpodlumify for 10% off your order!

Her first assignment is in Connecticut, so naturally we talk about all things New England and how amazing it is to take a travel contract there!
