Episode 13 | Hunter Grounds by Dave Smith Decoys

We are honored to have Jay Scott on the podcast in this episode. Along with guiding Gould turkey and world class elk hunts, Jay hosts the largest western hunting and fishing podcast. In this episode we talk about some of the differences in hunting the Goulds turkey and many tactics that relates to all turkey hunting as well.

Mr. Purple Drank himself, Matt Winters, joins us to talk turkey hunting. Matt was the reason we started a White Face decoy line and he tells us his side of that story and how that has worked out for his hunting so far.

Our good friend Chris Stone joins us to talk about the excitement of hunting turkeys up close and personal, without a ground blind. Chris is a ninja when it comes to hiding in the open and minimizing movement. We also talk about gear and upcoming spring plans.

Alex Russo of Flatland Flyways joins us to talk snow geese. Alex runs a first class waterfowl hunting lodge in South Dakota and is a huge reason that we are developing a new snow goose decoy.

In this episode we dive into strategies on how to get access and approach farmers with Travis Reeser. The number one factor of having successful hunts is being where the geese want to be and a lot of times that involves asking farmers for permission to hunt. Travis is a wealth of knowledge, especially when it comes to this topic.

In this episode we're taking questions from customers and answering as many as we can. We will be doing more of these in the future, so make sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram and we will post before the next series asking for your questions!

In the final episode of our three part series on band hunting, we dive deeper into more stories and tactics that will help you pick out marked birds instead of relying on luck.
