When we think about God the first thing that is beyond obvious is the fact that he is more than we can understand. There is something about him that is more than we can understand or measure. With that is the realization of who we are as beings he has created. It reveals how we are dependant upon him not just for being created, but for existing any length of time at all as well.

The fact that everything happens in a predetermined manner allows us to know definite things about the universe that we reside in. It also allows us to know that we can understand the universe and specific things about it. It also gives us a sure confidence in God that allows us to pray and know we can have specific results. It also assures us that our bodies and every physical thing has a purpose that is redeemable and not just evil.

Are you a servant or a ruler? We all want great faith, but why? The disciples asked Jesus to increase their faith and he told them that even little faith can accomplish much, but also reminded them that no matter what they did, it was still nothing exceptional. We think that having faith to move mountains is great faith, but in God's eyes, it is nothing spectacular. For even that is just us allowing God to be God.

Today we find in the Catechism that not only did God create everything out of nothing, but that He continues to sustain it. In fact, we could do nothing without this aid because of who we are and our dependence on Him shows us the basis for the eternal life He provides for us who serve Him willingly.
