US Senate Committee on Veterans\' Affairs held a hearing April 15

entitled Programs for Justice-Involved Veterans, a low-key ambiguous

title for a rather important hearing. We hear testimony from retired

US Army Major General Clyde \"Butch\" Tate, Chief Counsel for All Rise;

The Honorable Lawton Nuss, retired Chief Justice of the Kansas Supreme

Court; Corey Schramm, a US Army veteran who serves as a Case Manager

on the Johnson County, Kansas Mental Health Center\'s Adult Services

team; retired US Army Brigadier General David \"Mac\" MacEwen, Director

of the Veterans Justice Commission at the Council on Criminal Justice;

and Rose Carmen Goldberg, Associate Teaching Professor and Director of

the Veterans Clinic at the University of Washington School of Law.

He has litigated over 50 appeals across numerous federal and state jurisdictions. He is author of Jury Nullification The Evolution of a Doctrine. Paul Armentano is Deputy Director of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws. Topics to include moving medical cannabis to Schedule III, drug war and Trumps war on reality.

On this edition of Century: Yankee Cannabusiness. Connecticut

legalized marijuana in 2021. Now in 2026, the Connecticut legislature

is considering changes to its weed laws. An amended version of House

Bill 5350, An Act Concerning Cannabis, Hemp and Infused Beverage

Regulation, was approved by the Connecticut House of Representatives

on April 20 in a roll call vote of 83 to 61, after more than three

hours of sometimes contentious debate. This week on Century of Lies we

hear portions of that debate including interventions by CT State Reps.
