On this edition of Century: World AIDS Day 2025. Ever since it was
first established in 1988, World AIDS Day is observed annually on
December First. This year, a side event was held December First at UN
headquarters in New York to commemorate World AIDS Day. Sponsored by
UNAIDS and the Missions of Brazil and the Netherlands, this event
highlighted the impact of disruptions on the AIDS response, showcased
the resilience of countries and communities, and called for global
solidarity to end AIDS. We\'ll hear presentations by some of the
speakers including Dr. Cesar Nunez, Director of the New York Office of
UNAIDS; His Excellency Ambassador Sergio Franca Danese, Permanent
Representative of Brazil to the UN; Jesus Aguais, President of Aid for
AIDS; and Keren Dunaway, Global Program Officer at the International
Community of Women Living with HIV and an NGO Delegate to the UNAIDS
Programme Coordinating Board.
