Global Commission on Drug Policy released a report recently entitled

Beyond Punishment: From Criminal Justice Responses to Drug Policy

Reform, which exposes how punitive drug policies have driven mass

incarceration and grave human rights violations around the world. The

report was presented at a side event entitled Beyond Punishment: From

Criminal Justice Responses to Drug Policy Reform, which was held May

21 during the Thirty Fourth Session of the UN\'s Commission on Crime

Prevention and Criminal Justice. This week on Century we\'ll hear

presentations from that event by His Excellency Raphael Ngeli,

Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Switzerland to the OSCE,

United Nations and other International Organisations in Vienna; Doctor

Graham Alabaster, Head of the Geneva Office of UN-Habitat; Olivia

Rope, Executive Director of Penal Reform International; and Her

Excellency Laura Gil, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of

Colombia to the United Nations in Vienna.
