This week, Big Sam, Nicole, and Shan discuss how all the teams at the top of the Championship dropped points, including Leeds and Burnley, who played to a 0-0 draw. Portsmouth has moved out of the relegation zone for now, as Plymouth lost one of their key players to Middlesbrough. Birmingham City leads in League 2 after drawing at Wrexham, and Leyton Orient is now in the playoff hunt. Accrington Stanley achieved a shutout victory in League 2, with an Everton loanee in goal.

Big Sam and Danny open with Burley’s double penalty save draw against Sunderland, but Leeds still holds the top spot in the Championship. Pompey got a win but still sits in the drop. Danny checks in with Wolves on loan as they discuss the “pockets” in the table. Wrexham is still behind Birmingham City in League 1, but the two face off on Thursday. Accy and Tranmere both lost but are still safe in League 2 as Walsall continues their domination behind a Stoke City loanee. The crew enjoys a little Beccherovka, a Czech herbal liquor.

Lg 1 sees Wycombe with a chance to take over the top spot again with their game in hand this week. 2-10 is separated by 4 points in Lg 2 and Accy appears to have some breathing room towards safety.

This week was a treat for the EFL show as our good friend and Leeds Supporter David Geckle joined us. He helped with a little more insight into the battle for promotion in the championship. League one saw Barnsley and Reading both on a great run of form but the top still remains the same. Accy continues to remain safe in League 2 but it’s really tight. What isn’t, Walsall’s now 12-point lead at the top as Port Vale is sinking fast.

This week Sam, Nicole, and Hiram opened with the Northwest Derby where Liverpool didn’t have their best day but still managed a point. Was this the turning point for Manchester United, or was it just a flash like the City victory? 15-18th has gotten much tighter as Ipswich has been on a roll and Everton’s inability to score has gotten bad. Big Ange has a cryptic and repetitive response to Spur’s loss and Forest just keeps rolling.

Since both routes for Newcastle and Villa, it was only proper to open with their one-sided match while having a “spirited discussion” over Duran’s sending-off.
