  • ShockCast Ep. 170 - "Tales From PAX East 2014"
This week's episode is almost exclusively dedicated to our adventures in Boston during this year's PAX East. We talk about the games we played, the parties we attended, the people we met and go in depth about how Boston stole Jorge's voice.
This week I was joined by my fellow Staff Writers Ryan Meitzler and Jorge Jimenez. Many thanks to @elblanconino for our custom intro and outro.

  • ShockCast Ep. 169 - "Brothers Of S.M.A.S.H."
Given how Nintendo has announced the release window for Super Smash Bros 3DS/Wii U, we decided to make that our main topic this week. We discuss what these two games bring to the Smash Bros. series and also how the release dates could affect Nintendo in the long run.
We also talk about some of the original things we posted on the site like my editorial about how to create the perfect remastered game and Jorge's reviews for Kinect Sports Rivals and Dynasty Warriors 8: Extreme Legends. We also discuss some news and other odd things along the way. Sorry... no MGSV talk this week unfortunately.

  • ShockCast Ep. 168 - "Video Games Are Awesome"
I didn't have a featured topic prepared for this week because, quite frankly, nothing really interesting happened in the gaming world. That being the case, I decided to ask the illustrious panel about how they got into video games. We wax nostalgic about our first systems, games and some of the crazy memories we have associated with them.
We also talked about some of the cool things that happened on the site including: Our interview with Michael Pachter and our reviews for Atelier Escha & Logy, The Witch and the Hundred Knight and Tomb Raider #2. As usual, we dropped a few news bits here and there and of course, had our mandatory Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes talk which just seems to spring out of nowhere now.
This week I was joined by my fellow Staff Writers Ryan Meitzler and Jorge Jimenez. Many thanks to @elblanconino for our custom intro and outro.

  • Michael Pachter Interview: on PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, Titanfall’s Exclusivity, Morpheus and More
DualShockers spent almost a whole hour chatting with Wedbush Securities Analyst and crystal ball holder extraordinaire Michael Pacher, that gave his opinion about quite a few different topics, ranging from Morpheus to Sont, Microsoft and Nintendo, touching Electronic Arts, Titanfall, Ubisoft and more.

  • ShockCast Ep. 167 - Is this Reality?
Virtual Reality seems to be the big "it" thing recently. Last week we learned about Sony's Project Morpheus and today we got the bombshell news about Facebook buying Oculus VR. With this in mind, how could we NOT delve into the subject? We discuss whether VR is the true next step in gaming or if it's another fad like 3D and motion controls.
We also discuss some of the original content posted on the site including our reviews of inFAMOUS: Second Son, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare and The Witcher #1 and our editorials about The Last of Us film adaptation, Metal Gear Solid 3 and why Final Fantasy X-2 deserves more love. We also discuss Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes and Peace Walker because we really can't go one week without talking about the MGS franchise on the ShockCast.
This week I was joined by Staff Writers Ryan Meitzler and Jorge Jimenez. Thanks as always to @elblanconino for our custom intro and outro tracks.

  • ShockCast Ep. 166 - Gameageddon 2014: Part One
It always seems to happen this way: We’ll go months without any big releases and then BAM, we’re suddenly inundated with a flood of games. This week alone has seen the release of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster and will also see the release of inFAMOUS: Second Son. What’s a gamer to do with all of these games to play?
We also discuss what makes a game a “system seller” and what games have gotten us to buy a particular console. On top of that we also dive into some gaming news, in particular, the recent exodus of producers and executives from certain game studios/publishers.
This week I was joined by Jorge Jimenez (Staff Writer) and Ryan Meitzler (Staff Writer). Many thanks to @elblanconino for our custom intro and outro.

  • ShockCast Ep. 165 - Watch - D'oh!
Did you hear that? It's the sound of the other shoe dropping. When Watch_Dogs was first unveiled in 2012, we were excited beyond belief as the next generation of gaming was finally here. In 2013, when more information was released, we could not contain our excitement any further. But when the game was delayed in that same year, we shifted in our seats a little. And when the game's most recent trailer was released this year, the bottom of our sanity all but fell out.
And on top of all that, we discussed recent subjects regarding Titanfall, PlayStation Now, Naughty Dog, Sony's Jack Tretton, South Park: The Stick of Truth, and Mighty No. 9's Keiji Inafune.
This week Tony Polanco (Staff Writer) was joined by Ryan Meitzler (Staff Writer) and Jorge Jimenez (Staff Writer). Many thanks to @elblanconino for our custom intro and outro.

  • ShockCast Ep. 164 - "Politically Incorrect"
I was sitting here all year waiting for the inevitable Assassin’s Creed V announcement and got Batman: Arkham Knight instead, and no, that’s not a complaint. However, I am still apprehensive given the amount of Batman we have received in the past five years – I wonder if my colleagues on the show feel the same?
This week on the ShockCast we’ll be discussing the new game, as well as chatting a bit about the newly released South Park: The Stick of Truth and The Walking Dead: Season Two‘s second episode, “A House Divided.” As usual, there will be a rundown of some of the most recent news as well.
This week David Rodriguez was joined by Joel Taveras (Deputy Editor), Jorge Jimenez (Staff Writer), Ryan Meitzler (Staff Writer), and Tony Polanco (Staff Writer). Many thanks to @elblanconino for our custom intro and outro.

  • ShockCast Ep. 163 - "Next-Gen*"
Watch the video version here (http://buff.ly/1gCuYVh)
We’ve spent a lot of time debating some of the more major aspects of the next generation of video games here on the ShockCast. Tonight however, we’re going to spend some time talking about what the term “next-gen” actually means. Everyone seems to have their own definition despite the term being thrown around haphazardly enough.
And with that, what of the games that are released alongside the start of a new generation? What do IPs need to do to establish themselves in a climate that is very different from that of the 90s and early 2000s. How does a game like Watch_Dogs establish its relevance and how does Mario maintain his relevance?
As usual, we’ll also be discussing some big news regarding Xbox One and PS4, Titanfall, Final Fantasy XV, Kingdom Hearts III, Halo 5, Doom, and others.
This week David Rodriguez was joined by Dianna Lora (Community Manager), Jorge Jimenez (Staff Writer), Ryan Meitzler (Staff Writer), and Tony Polanco (Staff Writer). Many thanks to @elblanconino for our custom intro and outro.

  • ShockCast Ep. 162 - "LIVE"
That's right. This week's ShockCast was recorded live and streamed on YouTube (Watch here -- http://buff.ly/1fe5Fw1). Prepare yourself for an extra amount of patented DualShockers silliness, technical difficulties, and debauchery. Given that this was a test run, let us know what you think in the comments below. We will be streaming live from the official DualShockers YouTube page from now on, but will still be offering the audio of the ShockCast at the same as we do now: Wednesdays at 1pm.
For this show we focused on the staff's reactions to the recently-released Titanfall Beta and The Last of Us' inaugural downloadable content: Left Behind. We also spoke about the recent Irrational Games kerfluffle and ended with our rundown of recent news.
This week David Rodriguez was joined by Joel Taveras (Deputy Editor & Co-Founder), Jorge Jimenez (Staff Writer), Ryan Meitzler (Staff Writer), and Tony Polanco (Staff Writer). Many thanks to @elblanconino for our custom intro and outro.
