I don't believe in cancel culture. I think there are a lot of people that don't want to be held accountable for their own hateful opinions and have labeled any action to hold them accountable "cancellation".

Nobody canceled Dr. Suess, the Muppets or Mr. Potatohead. All of these Intellectual properties had someone at the helm who decided that respect comes before sales.

Am I going to cancel you if you think Mr. Potatohead has a gender? Nope.

But I am also not going to give you a platform to wax philosophically about the gender of a potato or any other "it was fine then and it is fine now" arguement about any kind of discrimination.

Anywho, please don't cancel me for speaking my mind!

On to the message - performative allyship as per wikipedia:

Performative activism is a pejorative term referring to activism done to increase one's social capital rather than because of one's devotion to a cause. It is often associated with surface-level activism, referred to as slacktivism.

Too many people fronting like they are down for a cause but don't want to do the work necessary in order to be a real ally.

Hey peeps, to counteract these gloomy days post something that you are grateful for that starts with the letter A.

For me, it is my automobile! This automobile is special because it was my moms. So I am reminded of her everyday when I go anywhere.

Also, I am grateful for being apart from people I want to love from a distance. You know, the family members that are royal A holes.

Today marks the end of the first week of 2021.

The vaccine is rolling out (albeit slowly) and we finally dumped Trump (but not without storming the senate).

I had a great sit down with my favourite Vancity rappers yesterday and talked about release dates and marketing.

Tomorrow, I'm back to recording and making music.

2021 is off to a great start!
