Dubophonic Records is a forward thinking independent music label based in Cyprus, providing exclusive releases of dub music, from artists who are dedicated and passionate about their work. Founded in 2013, the label retains focus on the art of dub music in its most diverse forms, whether it is electronic or acoustic/organic, roots or steppers, classic or contemporary, defining the outer boundaries of dub music. The podcast showcases the works of the label!

The peaceful ZEN-warriors are back! It is a joy when a project, which has been inactive for over five years, comes back to life. It is even more interesting; when this happens because of the feedback it received by the listeners. “The Wing Chun Album” consists of 10 new tracks with a dubwize feeling. Staying true to the style they introduced in their previous album, their 2018 sound is rootical and deep, with a strong stepper feeling, great bass lines and the addition of horns, oft accompanying the guitar and the melodica.

The Dubwegians where founded in the UK back in 2010, when Gary had the idea of starting a dub band. He therefore approached his old school friend Richy, whose guitar skills were always thought highly of. He just wanted to play bass in the band and not do any producing, but as they struggled to find members, they decided to lay down some dub covers of some of their favourite tracks, using a laptop to overdub and edit their takes. In the absence of a drummer, it was a struggle to use a software, whilst trying to capture the warmth of analogue dub.

The EP includes 5 instrumental tracks; dub reworks of some great roots reggae masterpieces, produced with love and lots of passion by the duo from the UK.
