Dubophonic Records Showcase

Dub Cmd, the UK based dub producer from Poland, returns with a new EP. After his first release in year 2019 and his collaboration in the same year with the USA based producer Sistasara from Italy, the artist returns with a new outernational collaboration, this time featuring on the vocals the Japanese singer Sister Maki from Osaka.

This album - Brass Echo Chamber by Stefanosis (USA) and Samson Benji (GER) - was originally released in the early 2000's through the now defunct Springline Records label. Sadly, the online release never took off and did not received the popularity it deserved.

Fast forward in year 2020, the original files were discovered twenty years later on a disc. The songs have been re-mastered and allowed to shine brighter this time on the 24th Jan 2020, polished and resonating pure, reggae dubplate vibes.

The album consists of seven instrumental tracks with heavy bass lines, melodic riffs and deep echoes, influenced by the traditional roots reggae dub and presented with a modern ambient downbeat feeling. Pure meditation!

Munay Ki Dub - MKD

Munay Ki Dub is an electronic live dub trio, representing a new breed of artists from Argentina. Hailing up from the mountains of central Argentina, they combine live instruments such as violin, melodica, percussion, bass and guitar with programming, effects and digital instruments

Munay Ki Dub are Alejo Gonzalez (programming, keyboard, bass, fx, guitar, lead and backing vocals), Rebecca Clements (lead vocals, violin, melodica, keyboard and percussion) and Roby Torcello (guitar). The name of the band comes from an indigenous language spoken by the Quechua people, primarily living in the Peruvian Andes and highlands of South America. "Munay Ki" in Quechua means "i love", so their name reflects their passion: “I Love Dub”.

Their debut release comes in the form of a digital EP entitled “MKD” and includes four tracks that follow the above recipe, lyrically using the English and Spanish languages as a form of political expression and social awareness/consciousness, musically gliding between digital roots reggae, dub & bass and steppa.

This EP is a true child of Dubophonic Records. Both artists released earlier this year their own musical works on the label: SistaSara's Space Stepper and Dub Cmd's Moonsteppa. The admiration of each other's music led to their first collaboration … and they are both working on some more tunes, since SistaSara will be giving a word and a voice on some tracks on Dub Cmd's upcoming album in 2020.

"Show appreciation, let it glow

Daily introspection, let it flow

Light for every nation you will see

Consciousness expanding

Deeper understanding

Let everyone know life is worth so much more

And the blessings can reveal that for sure

May everyone know life is worth so much more

And the blessings can reveal that for sure

Eventually light will shine on again

Humankind rebirth / Soul-search on earth

Let everyone know life is worth so much more

And the blessings can reveal that for sure"
