  • Bonfireside Chat 63: Intro and Hunter's Dream

Gary Butterfield and Kole Ross talk about the opening of Bloodborne, including the Hunter's Dream. For any new listeners who are unaware of our spoiler policy, here it is: Each episode is about a particular area, and we go through them in sequence. We won't spoil important things that happen after the area we're talking about. After a certain point in the game, when things turn or open up, this policy is revisited. However, we will be very clear when that happens. Thanks so much for listening. We're happy to have you.

  • Watch Out for Fireballs! 97: Commander Keen in "Goodbye, Galaxy!"

Gary Butterfield and Kole Ross walk backward and talk about Commander Keen in "Goodbye, Galaxy!"

We're always looking to shore up blind spots in the games we cover. After nearly four years of doing this show, it's important to avoid ruts. Commander Keen represents a particular stripe of PC platformers that was ultimately an evolutionary dead end. But in his time, Commander Keen was charming and fun. This episode actually covers two games: "The Secret of the Oracle" and "The Armageddon Machine". The former is an essential play, the latter is dull garbage.
