Welcome back, Duelers! We're back to deliver some more nostalgia for this week, and we brought another special guest judge along with us. Mancrush has spoken ad nauseam about not having time to read books and his massive Audible book collection. Well, after listening to the book "Rock Bottom at the Renaissance: An Emo Kid's Journey Through Falling In and Out of Love In and With New York City", he was so blown away, he asked the author to come on the show! And since May is Mental Awareness month, his invitation made a lot of sense. All rise for an author, and Emmy Award-winning producer, Mike Henneberger! Now let's take a look at the contestants and the decades they will be fighting for. First up, going back to before he was even a glimmer in his father's eye, Drew Zakmin delivers his best mid-month week from May of 1976. His first opponent, coming off a surprising victory last week, Mancrush brings the best of his week in May of 1995. And rounding out the competition, Marc James heads back to childhood with his best week experience of May 1988.
Stick around after the game, and listen to Mike Henneberger talk about his fantastic book! 50% of the proceeds from this book will be donated to mental health charities and artist relief funds to help out-of-work music industry crew members, so please check it out. I promise it's a fantastic read (or listen to the amazing Tyler Posey narrated version)! But, in this particular episode, you may hear something about: Ninety dollar VHS tapes, comedians on couches, the legend of Dick Pole, Drew gives us all intestinal problems, Vagisil ads, Jack Forrest cheats on his wife, Slash rides a banana bike with a top hat, Kirby's Silver Surfer is the only true Silver Surfer, living your life a quarter-mile at a time 70s edition, award ceremonies, mic drop moments in history, Mike Tyson is a generous dude, boring political stuff, Mary Jane enjoys it hard and fast, he wants your girlfriend to be his girlfriend too, philanthropy, Ambien, and did I mention Vagisil? All this week and more!
Do you agree with Mike's rulings? Play at home and judge for yourself! Join us Wednesday 5/19/21 at 9pmEST on YouTube for a live episode with Chris DeMakes of Less Than Jake!

Dueling Decades is back with another live episode where we examine the best the month of May has to offer! Mancrush flips through the pages of May of 1974 and finds a really big pair of….Umm, picks! Marc James is poppin’ and lockin’ his way through the best of May 1984. Rounding out the field, "The Professor" Drew Zakmin is back with the best of May 1994 in another stellar repeat performance! Behind the bench this week is the host of Miscast Commentary and the man known the world over as the Media King of the North! (and by the world over I mean the import store in the mall) It’s The Honorable Judge Joe Findlay!
It's always fun to watch Joe work his judicial skills while simultaneously producing the show! That's right, "watch". If you didn't know, you can now WATCH the fellas on their YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/c/duelingdecades). This week we bring you a frighteningly good episode where we scare up all the best horror-themed selections from 1977, 1987, and 1997! Behind the bench, this week is AJ Diaferio frontman from the heavy metal band “We’re Wolves” AJ is a man of many talents and a huge fan of horror culture and movies so we knew he would be the right man to serve as judge, jury, and executioner for this delightfully dark duel! Mike Ranger is back and this time he wrangles up all the best frights from 1997!
I highly suggest listening to AJ's band We're Wolves softly in the background as you digest this episode! This week the Dueling Decades clan kick things into action with a special Martial Arts themed duel and we could not think of a better judge for this episode than the man who famously played “Karate Bad Boy” Mike Barnes in Karate Kid III. Actor, author, and producer, Sean Kanan returns to the show to share some stories and impart some wisdom from his new book ``The Way of The Cobra” but what will be the way to victory in this battle?
The Media King of the North, Joe Findlay is Kung-Fu Fighting with the best martial arts picks from 1975. Mancrush is back to the 80s this week with all the spandex-laden high kicking action from 1985! Marc James draws the 90s and he hopes his picks from 1995 will be The Best of The Best!
First, you should go check us out on YouTube (link is below)! Second, you might be saying to yourself "I don't even like Martial Arts". Wait, what?! Don't sweat it, I promise you'll still dig these picks! If you stick around, you might hear something about the most irresponsible camp to send your kids to, a news story straight out of the Robert Stack playbook, Off-Broadway fatalities, Eric Roberts big times a threequel, unlikely paths to stardom, Playboy models and gymnasts are a match made in Parmistan, Joe's pick took longer than Ali's fight, the real Karate Kid isn't from Newark, parachuting with 800 pounds of illicit powder, battle of the Bojangles Coliseum, Kanan rides with Carradine, kung-fu prostitutes, rubber karate chops and kung fu grips, don't mess with killer bees, you need the glow to grow, dudes who fight bears, Daniel don't do his own stunts, and kung-fu love songs! All this week and more!
Do you agree with Sean's rulings? Play at home and judge for yourself!

We're back with another episode of everyone's favorite retro game show, Dueling Decades! This week a new friend grabs the gavel, we're joined by Joe La Scola from the Movie Dumpster podcast! Coincidentally, it turns out that Joe and Mancrush were both at this past Friday's - Monster Squad showing at the Mahoning Drive-In. How's that for a small world?!
