To kick off hour four of this Monday Labor Day edition of Dukes & Bell featuring Thomas Mott, Thomas hits the Falcon Report. On this edition of The Falcon Report Thomas talk all things Atlanta Falcons with Atlanta Falcons beat writer for the AJC D. Orlando Ledbetter. Thomas starts things off by asking D-Led if the reports are true that Arthurt Smith says Jalen Mayfielld is going to start at left guard Sunday after the injury of Josh Andrews. D-Led responds by saying “Yea he’s been working with the first team, and if they were going to bring somebody in they would’ve done it by now, so yea it seems like the kid is going to get the start.” Next, Thomas asks D-Led if he thinks the Falcons’ offensive line could struggle against the stout Philadelphia Eagles defensive line. D-Led responds by saying “Yea that could be an uphill battle, you’ve got a second year center, a rookie at left guard, and three year guys on the right side, so the young guys will have have their hands full protecting Matt Ryan.” Next, Thomas asks if Matt Ryan is looking like the same old Matt Ryan despite the lack of pre-season play and game reps. D-Led responds by saying “It looks like the same Matt Ryan to me” D-Led finishes his thought by saying “There’s not a lot of new language, it’s a lot of stuff he’s done before so there shouldn’t be a huge drop-off because of the new offense.” Thomas keeps things going with D-Led by asking him if he agrees with the way Arthur Smith has approached the pre-season. D-Led responds by saying “Yea i’m of the old school homage you gotta practice to play, he doesn’t want to tip off the way he’s going to call the game, but the timing of the passing is going to be off, so I think forty to sixty plays is what you need in the pre-season to get ready, so the play for the first four to six weeks is going to be pretty bad.” Next, Thomas asks D-Led what the key positions are for the Falcons this season. D-Led responds by saying “The secondary is going to be a critical area for the Falcons this season.”D-Led finishes his thought by saying “You’ll have some opportunities there if the line holds up, the line has to hold up though.” Next, Thomas asks D-Led if Richie Grant will see some snaps at safety in some packages this season. D-Led responds by saying “I think he will take over for Erick Harris at some point, but he’s going to start off a lot on special teams.” Finally, Thomas wraps things up with D-Led by asking him if there could be a point this season where Arthur Smith could get put on the hot seat. D-Led responds by saying “I really think they can go four and one” “I’m not picking the Eagles, Jets, or Giants, over the Falcons.” Ledbetter finishes his thought by saying “I really don’t think they would let go of him in his rookie season.”

To close out hour four of this Monday Labor Day edition of Dukes & Bell featuring Thomas Mott, Thomas goes around the yard with the Atlanta Braves with 92.9 The Game’s own Atlanta Braves insider and reporter Joe Patrick. Thomas starts things off by asking Joe what he thinks about the Braves giving Charlie Morton a one-year twenty million dollar extension. Joe responds by saying “I think it’s a great move.” Joe finishes his thought by saying “I can’t say enough about the pitcher Charlie Morton is and the person Charlie Morton is, and that’s why the Braves have him in their organization.” Next, Thomas asks if this road trip was a total disaster for the Braves. Joe responds by saying “It’s not a total disaster.” Joe finishes his thought by saying. “The question is can they intercept this poor run of wins, and beat these teams coming up that they should have some success against.” Finally, Thomas wraps things up with Joe by asking him if there is any chance other than luck that the Braves could beat the Dodgers in the playoffs. Joe responds by saying “If you look at the talent on the roster it’s not even close.” Joe finishes his thought by saying “I feel like if the Braves get the starting pitching that they have over the last month, then you give yourself a chance, and baseball is a volatile sport, so you never know what could happen. “I think people will say they haven’t been getting ahead of themselves, but I think we all have.”

Radi responds by saying “He can be, but I told everybody on this station last week that you weren’t going to see that.” Radi continues by saying. “Georgia is a much better run block team than they are a pass block team.” Radi finishes his thought by saying  “I would not read too much into of what JT Daniels could do.” Next, Thomas asks Radi if there will be running back we will see more than others, or if it will continue to be more of a running back by committee. Radi responds by saying “I still think it’s going to be a running back by committee. All of these guys are running angry and hard trying to prove that they are the guy.” B-Mac keeps things rolling by asking Radi if there is a receiver on this football team that could be that go to guy. Radi responds by saying “They had a lot of five stars on the bench, so a lot of these guys could be the guy.” Radi finishes his thought by saying “You’re about to see this team starting to put up ridiculous numbers.” Next, Thomas asks Radi if Georgia’s next toughest test is against Florida.  Radi responds by saying “It’s gotta be.” Radi continues by saying “When they get to Jacksonville, they play poorly a lot of times.” Radi finishes his thought by saying “The next big test to me has to be Florida.” Finally, Thomas wraps things up by asking Radi if Kirby could be on the hot seat if he doesn’t make the playoffs this year. Radi responds by saying “He’s signed three number one classes, he’s recruiting like nobody has ever seen, and he’s built up all the facilities.” Radi continues by saying “Who are you going to bring in that’s better right now?” Radi finishes his thought by saying “The fans expect him to be in the playoffs, and he expects them to be in the playoffs.”

Thomas kicks things off by asking Jakob if the Georgia Clemson game was more about the Clemon offense or the Georgia defense. Jakob responds by saying. “I think it was obviously a special performance from the Georgia defense.” Jakob finishes his thought by talking about Clemson’s offense saying “Four guys made up 70% of their production on offense, and you have to try and replace that, so obviously that’s hard.” Next, B-Mac asks Jakob if Georgia fans should be concerned about Georgia’s offense. Jakob responds by saying “I think while you should be excited for the defense, I think the offense has to be a major cause of concern.” Jakob also says “Georgia still doesn’t have that guy at receiver and that is something that is concerning from their offense.” Jakob finished his thought by saying “When it comes to playing Bama you will have to score as well as play good defense.” Next, Thomas asks Jakob besides Alabama and Georgia’s defense, what from college football impressed him the most this weekend. Jakob responds by saying “I think one that has impressed a lot of people, and something we are probably going to hear a lot about is UCLA.” Jakob finishes his thought by saying “That offense is starting to look like vintage Chip Kelly” Next, B-Mac asks Jakob what he thought about  Oklahoma’s performance this weekend. Jakob responds by saying “As much as they can score they run into these teams that play great defense and they struggle.”Jakob finishes his thought by saying “You would like to see a more dominant performance from a team with championship aspirations and ranked number two.” Finally, Thomas wraps things up with Jakob by asking him what he thought about Notre Dame;s overtime victory over Florida State. Jakob responds by saying “Jack Coan looked great in his first start against Notre Dame.”
