Dumbing it Down with Dave

Welcome back to Dumbing it Down with Dave.

Forgive me for I have sinned (once again) and have not produced an episode since March 2, 2026.
Today's episode was well worth the wait, especially for me.
A year ago in 2025 Charlie Kirk was assassinated. It affected me in a way, that I haven't been affected in a long time by a person's death. It affected me in such a way that I changed my Facebook profile pic to "I am Charlie" which is probably the most performative thing I have ever done.
I try very hard not to be performative and it is in fact, a pet peeve of mine.

When I changed it, I wasn't sure how long it would be for. I certainly didn't think it would be for a year.

It was and what a year it was.
I was accused of being a racist because of my belief in him. Most people know I'm not a racist. I'm quite the opposite and then some.

What I found amazing since the change was the anger and negativity soooo many people have because of Charlie, and it's all misinformed.

What I also found amazing was something I'm going to possibly to talking about a lot in future episode.
I found that most people (99.9%) of the people who were upset and angered lacked...curiosity.

I'm amazed at the lack of curiosity in people. Many people don't really don't want to have a conversation.

Conversation definition:
A conversation is an interactive, informal exchange of thoughts, ideas, feelings, or information between two or more people. Unlike a speech, a debate, or an interrogation, a true conversation relies on a dynamic flow of speaking and active listening, where all participants have the opportunity to contribute.

Charlie taught me "bad things happen when we stop talking".
I've always enjoyed real, sincere and honest conversation. I have found that not only in the last year, but for several years real engagement, especially on Facebook has become nearly impossible. I keep on trying, and I keep on experiencing so much negativity and so much push back on ideas that are not part of the echo chamber.

I encourage you engage and participate in the conversation and with this episode.
There are many ways to participate.

You can always call the show and leave a message on the Dumbing it Down with Dave "Dumbline" at 845-330-3410.
It's a smart thing to do.
In this epsiode, amongst a few other things, Dave discusses his return to podcasting (AGAIN) after a 17 day abscence. At least it wasn't 17 months. Let's hope that never happens again.
This was a test episode to see if the mic works and the sound is good enough for the air and all of that technical stuff.
I don't know if and when I'll ever return to mobile podcasting in my Honda FIT or Dodge Caravan, but if and when I do, it'll be a better production than it ever has before. At least I hope so. ***Video is coming soon***
So please engage with this epsiode via the Spreaker chat, the DIDWD Dumbline at 845-330-3410, or in the DIDWD Facebook group and let me know what you think of the sound and all that, I would greatly appreciate your input.

If you’d like to call the show and leave a voicemail in response to what you’ve heard call 845-330-3410.
Keep it brief and possibly clean for a minute or two, and we might just play it on the next show.

In this episode amongst one or two other things, we discuss the President Trump and Zelensky meeting that blew up in front of the world on television.

Here’s the link to that full video that I watched twice.

https://youtu.be/7pxbGjvcdyY?s...

I watched it twice, and I break it down a minute by minute everything that was said.
I also talk about the response to the video that was posted on the Dumbing it Down with Dave Facebook group.
Thank you so much for listening to the show and engaging as well. I appreciate it very much.

Feel free, and feel very good about calling the Dumbing It Down With Dave Dumbline at 845-330-3410. Leave a message of about a minute or two and it just might get on the next episode or the one after that.

In this episode, we start off by a recap of the previous episode discussing Kendrick Lamar’s performance during the Super Bowl halftime. I still think my thoughts will surprise you.
The second half of the episode we talk about this “economic blackout” that is scheduled for February 28 and the possibility of blackouts scheduled after that.
How many people will participate? Will it have any long lasting effect?

Thank you very much for listening and engaging especially those who are doing that on Spreaker.

No one is standing by, so leave a message

In this episode of Kendrick Lamar‘s halftime show, amongst a few other things, we discussed his almost 14 minute performance during the Super Bowl halftime .

Dave’s feelings, thoughts and ideas might surprise you!
You’ll have to listen to the whole show, because there’s so much to talk about, that it took 60 minutes to get all the thoughts out.
There’s probably much more to talk about and that depends on you engaging with the show.
Here’s the the E News video link that explains the feud.

In this episode, which is episode #344, amongst many different things, Dave talks about his training day in Poughkeepsie, New York, that he attended at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center. It was quite absurd.
