Only in California would movie filming be deemed "essential."  It's so essential, in fact, that in Los Angeles - a COVID testing center has had to cancel their scheduled tests for the day because the remake of the popular 90s film "She's All That" is filming at the testing site's location.  If the COVID craziness is truly about "saving lives" - then why does Hollywood get to cancel tests for people who need them?
