Funmi was born in the United but her parent took her back to Africa at the age of 4. Upon finishing high school, her father sent her to the United States at the age of 17. Alone without her parent and siblings, she saw herself through college, and with hard work, determination, and perseverance she thrived and prospered in the United States.
