When a man or a woman is more concerned about their reputation than their character, there’s no end to what they’ll do to make themselves look good. Some pastors are altering the message of the gospel in order to make it more listener friendly. But if you change the message, it loses it’s power because it’s no longer the gospel. We’ve been going verse by verse through the book of Acts, and today, we will be finishing chapter thirteen. It was pretty early on in Paul’s evangelical ministry when he realized that the message he was sharing was being rejected by a lot of people. He was telling the people that the gospel message was for everyone - whether you were jewish or gentile. A lot of religious leaders of the day didn’t appreciate hearing that!

Pastor Al continues in the book of Acts today, and what he will remind us of is one of the most important truths we find in the bible - when we receive Jesus as savior, we immediately become an enemy of the world. But the cool thing about it is, God knows we will make enemies when we start following Him, and He’ll carry us through the difficult times we’ll surely face.

Paul and his cohorts are spreading the message of salvation throughout the land, and the reaction they get varies quite a bit. There were those who were simply astounded to learn that could have salvation from sin through simple faith in Jesus. And there were those who thought Paul and his friends were out of their minds!

he people of Colossi were not too different from believers today - they tended to stray away from their faith and trust themselves to find the answers to a fulfilling life. Paul’s letter is designed to lead them back to Christ. Sounds like a good idea, doesn’t it?
