In episode 28, I interview Gonzalo Pena. He is an Innovation Creative and Podcast Host of InnoLatino. Lean in to learn about the how to empower the Hispanic/Latinx Community in STEM careers.
About Guest
Gonzalo is an innovation & inclusion storyteller. He loves to communicate and reach to people's hearts & minds through my message. His superpower is translating complex information in a way the learner is best able to receive it. He has honed this skill in many international-facing roles – including at the United Nations, Standard and Poors, and the American Red Cross of Greater New York and still holds a TS/SCI Clearance. As an immigrant, learning to adapt to many different cultures has given me unique insight on how and where cultural rifts happen and how to close them.
He believes a Latino renaissance is about to happen, and Renaissance is the best way to describe my life history. He studied music in Venezuela, then got his business degree in the United States. He applied his language skills (English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Italian) in many business settings. His experience covers from Wall Street to the United Nations teaching top world leaders computer skills courses, taught international relations at the college level, taught business courses for Latino entrepreneurs, and worked on top secret law enforcement projects. He has also performed with the Utah Opera! He loves the power that opera has to project strong emotion through music in a way that touches and invigorates the audience.
He believes Latinos have unique cultural strengths to draw from. He is most inspired by stories where small groups of people achieve amazing things from very little. Stories that require creative thinking, creative use of resources, persistence to keep trying for solutions, and focusing on a core mission. He believes Latinos are built for this type of thinking. Despite the setbacks Latinos have faced, we are resourceful, survivors, responsible, and courageous. These are the building blocks for the Latino community to achieve their next level of growth. Sprinkle in a little innovation and Latinos are set for a major renaissance. Learn more at https://www.linkedin.com/in/gonzalopena/ and https://anchor.fm/innolatino.

In episode 26, I interview Angela Legh. She is an author and self-development mentor. Lean in to the conversation as we discuss neurodiversity and helping kids learn how to manage their emotions.
About Guest
Angela had an alcoholic father and an angelic mother. Her father taught her the behaviors of others made her a powerless victim. Her mother taught her to be loving to everyone, including those who hurt her. Sadly, catastrophe struck when their house burned down; Angela was six years old. The family moved a lot over the next few years and her parents ultimately divorced.
Angela grew up to marry an emotionally abusive man; she stayed for 32 years because she didn't want to hurt him. A wildfire in Northern California was a catalyst for her personal growth. The Tubbs fire destroyed her house. When everything in her life was gone, she had to examine the only thing left, her relationship. She realized it was toxic; it was not going to get better; she left.
Angela is now an author and self-development mentor. Her children's book series, The Bella Santini Chronicles, has received high praise and is known for helping children learn how to manage their emotions. Learn more at https://angelalegh.com/.
