Today we had the pleasure of speaking with Pat Stuart from the Canine Paradigm Podcast. Aside from being a highly intelligent, hard working and extremely knowledgeable about training dogs... Pat is truly a great storyteller. His ability to break down complex dog training scenarios and then explain it in a way that makes sense to just about anyone is not something you find anywhere. That's why we called Pat from across the world to chat about dogs, training and hear a few stories from his past.
We begin the show hearing about Pat's podcast (which I'd encourage you to check out), his military background and how he got into working dogs. He said being near dogs in the military was so interesting, he wanted to dig into that world more. Some of the conversations we had during the show discuss positive reinforcement training, negative reinforcement training and we talk about the "unforced force fetch." One of the cool parts about listening to Pat is hearing how calculated and intentional he is with everything. There is a how and why behind his training and he helps explain it all so you can replicate it with your dog. Thank you to Pat for coming on our show and hanging out for a bit. If you enjoyed the conversation with Pat, check out more of his stuff here.
