C chats with their fellow dog professional Kenne Young. Originally from the US, Kenne moved, after living all over the world, all the way to Graz, Austria, where he and his wife Sarina run a unique dog boarding and daycare center: one where every dog who visits becomes a member of the family and is given all the love and freedom to live their best life.
Doglovers is the only place in Austria I would board my own dogs. Even though what I set out to talk about with Kenne was going from North America to Europe and the cultural differences that most stood out to him, what we start with, end with, and keep coming back to is - of course! - the dogs.
This episode gave me a lot to think about. I've wanted to leave Austria ever since I was a teenager. There are many things I could criticize about it and Europe in general. Thank you, Kenne, for providing me a fresh perspective - and a reminder of the warmth, "Gemütlichkeit" and safety that exists in Austria and that I, having grown up there, sometimes take for granted or overlook. One of my favorite episodes so far - I can't wait to record another part! Thank you, Kenne!
