I’d like to begin this episode by acknowledging the land that I am learning and living on is the traditional un-ceded, un-surrendered territory of the Anishnaabeg Algonquin People.
Sports, much like the military, are often heralded for creating leaders. And this belief makes sense because stressful moments tend to bring out the leader in us, and afterwards, during the inevitable de-brief or watching of the game tape, we can take the time to reflect on what worked and what was an epic fail, but.... no matter what, learning has happened... We learned about our leadership, we learned about ourselves, and also, we earned about our passions.
And so, in this special Remembrance Day episode, we’re going to talk about learning, about ourselves and our passions. To do this, I’ve brought back Ryan Carey, the Director of Military Engagement for the Concussion Legacy Foundation Canada, and Tim Fleizer, the Executive Director, also from the Concussion Legacy Foundation Canada, where we will talk about how they were able to turn their passions into their careers.
