After she and Richard took a 6,000 mile spontaneous trip through 13 countries by train, Karen wrote Adventures of a Railway Nomad: How Our Journeys Guide Us Home. 

Two of her other books are 101 Ways to Enjoy Living Abroad: Essential Tips for Easing the Transition to Expat Life and Pack Light: Quick & Easy Tips For Traveling Everywhere with Exactly the Right Stuff.
