Our God is a healing God not just a God who heals occassionally. There is a huge difference. Healing is an attribute or characteristic--a part of God's essence. In other words healing is a part of who God is not simply an action he is involved in. One of his names is Jehovah Rapha--literally I AM HEALER.

Jesus, in his work of atonement, purchased salvation and healing (the meaning of sozo the Greek word for salvation) for our spirit, soul, and body. This week in our Kingdom Living series we will begin looking at the believer's authority over sickness and disease. Do you sometimes feel you are all alone in the battle against the adversary? Perhaps it feels that way because you are not using the authority Jesus Christ has given you. The Bible is clear you are not alone. Jesus said, "I will never leave or forsake you." The Holy Spirit indwells and fills you if you belong to Jesus. Therefore, you are not alone. But...Jesus will not do for you what he has already given you authority to do. Perhaps the feelings you are experiencing are not those of being alone, but rather the gnawing impetus to use the delegated authority you have in Christ. If you will exercise that spiritual authority you will gain more confidence in using this powerful resource. This is earned authority, but you won't earn any authority if you are unwilling to use what you have been given in the first place. Take authority in Jesus' name over the situation or circumstance you face and watch the enemy take a step back in the battle you are presently engaged in.

Kingdom living is the life Jesus demonstrated. Jesus declared the kingdom of God is near. In fact, it is within every believer. This kingdom is more than words it is a demonstration of power. It is the proclamation and the demonstration of God's power in every situation we face. It's about time we started doing what Jesus did instead of just telling stories about what Jesus did. That means using the authority we have recieved as citizens of the Kingdom of God.
