Earth-2.net Presents... episodes

  • Hey, an Actor: Jodie Foster
Ian and Pandy Wilson continue their exploration of actors by basing their second episode around Jodie Foster. To the hosts' credit, they explore her Oscar-deserved performance as Clarice Starling in The Silence of the Lambs. Then again, they also tackle Flightplan. And one host reacts violently towards the Earth-2.net forum's choice of the lighthearted 1970s Disney feature Freaky Friday. Aside from that, Sean Bean is celebrated, John Astin is earmarked for an episode in a few years time, and for some reason (possibly juvenile) the Foster-directed film The Beaver is referenced throughout.

  • Better in the Dark 156: BITD Autopsy on the 2014 Season in Song
The Boys Outta Brooklyn returns to the Coroner's Office for the second episode in a row, this time to tackle the latest TV season. Find out what Tom and Derrick think about racist Martin Mull, cosplay Eliza Dushku, Anna Faris' Adventures in Chuck Lorre Land, and James Spader's Lex Luthoring. All this, plus a rather longish digression into the nature of pop music, including Tom saying nice things about Katy Perry! You know there's life after Auto-Tune, so get to clicking (and don't forget to follow us on Twitter at @BITDShow)!

  • Earth-2.net: The Show - Episode 700
This year, Earth-2.net celebrates its 10th anniversary. As such, each month you'll be treated to something special on the site. Kicking off the festivities is this gem from deep within the Earth-2.net archives. In 2008, Des and Mike recorded four episodes of a podcast that was to be called The Fantasticast. Their aim was to read and discuss every single issue of Fantastic Four, starting with Fantastic Four #1-4 from 1961. Why did the show never become a fully realized reality? For that answer, you'll need to listen to Mike's intro. After that, however, you'll hear the first installment of said unaired show, filled with now-dated references, one of the best Freudian slips ever, letters of dubious origin, and so much more. Enjoy!

  • Animezing Podcast - Episode 155
After a nearly three-month hiatus, Animezing Podcast is back! Kellen is joined by James to watch one of the duo's most long-cherished anime series: Mobile Suit Gundam SEED. While they were enamored at the age of 17 with the flying mechs, political intrigue, social commentary, and teenage angst, how will it fair now that both are in their mid-20s? See how the retrospective goes as they cover "False Peace," "Its Name: Gundam," "Collapsing Land," "Silent Run," and "Phase Shift Down."

  • Dread Media - Episode 334
This week on Dread Media, Peter Giglio joins Desmond to talk about his brand new novel Lesser Creatures, editing anthologies, and adapting a master's short story to the screen. Then Devil Dinosaur Jr. deliver a Stay Scary segment on the original When a Stranger Calls. • Bigger on the Inside - Episode 134
After Dan casually makes a reference to the worst anime of all time, the show spirals out of control, leading to a curse-filled tirade, an appearance by Shana, and talk of the Power Rangers. On the topic of Doctor Who, a revenge-seeking cyborg hunts down his maker ("A Town Called Mercy"), and alien-cubes pave the way for a very slow (and confusing) invasion ("The Power of Three"). Also: Lionel makes a special cameo, a listener nearly owes Mike a new keyboard, Rule 34, there's not a lot of love for Amy Pond, and in no way do the hosts hint at their next project. Nope. Not at all. Please visit www.patreon.com/biggerontheinside.

  • For Better or Worse: Edward Scissorhands
Shana and Mike tackle what is easily one of Tim Burton's finest pictures: Edward Scissorhands. Listen as the husband explains why it took him over 20 years to see the movie a second time, as the wife pines over Johnny Depp, as they both extol the talents of Dianne Wiest and Danny Elfman, and as they lament the lack of feedback. • Twice as Bright, Half as Long - Episode 01.03
Dave and Ian close the book on their first series with the last two episodes of Ultraviolet. In "Terra Incognita," a Brazilian immigrant leads the team to a Code V experiment with synthetic blood, and Vaughan finds himself in mortal danger. In "Persona Non Grata," the team have a Code V in custody, and Michael's loyalty is put to the test as their enemy's endgame is revealed. They also discuss the show overall, what they would have like to have seen in a second season, ponder who is the Paul Darrow of Ultraviolet, and Ian marks Dave's Latin pronunciation.

  • Dread Media - Episode 333
Take a seat. Don't worry about the leather straps digging into your arms. I won't pull them too tight. I would hate to waste all your pain on the straps. I've got something much worse in mind for you. Listening to this episode of chair-torture-themed films! First up, a solo review of the brand new Israeli dark comedy / crime thriller Big Bad Wolves. Then Devil Dinosaur Jr. takes a look at Hostel. Adam and Luke join Desmond to discuss Danielle Harris's directorial debut, Among Friends. There's tunes as well! "Dread Media" by Early Man, "Little Red Riding Hood" by Murder by Death, "The Mercy Seat" by Johnny Cash, "5 Seconds" by Shortie, "All my Friends are Dead" by Turbonegro, and "The Chair" by The 69 Eyes.
