Earth-2.net Presents...

Desmond and Megan are back with another Televised Terror! This time, in an episode recorded back in the winter (hence the interruption of their home furnace cold-air return fan), they look at and heap deserved but slightly reserved praised on the BBC production of Jekyll. Episode 32 is rolling into town, and Buffy is pissed! Some old friends come to town (and by friends we mean jackasses), amusingness happens in the aftermath of the Buffy / Riley breakup, and one of the Earth-2.net podcast hosts is compared to one of the bads! Meanwhile, on Angel, the car appears to have gone into neutral. Possibly even reverse. Wanna know more? Listen as Hannah and Will cover Buffy's "Triangle" and "Checkpoint," and Angel's "Redefinition" and "Blood Money."

In episode 549 you heard the four absolutely abysmal movie-themed Planet of the Apes Power Records. In this episode you'll hear four more Planet of the Apes Power Records, but there are two difference here: these four are adapted from the television show, and they're much better! Ian and Dave are back to watch two more episodes of Blake's 7. In "Moloch," the Liberator follows Servalan to a mysterious hidden planet where a legion of Federation troops have acquired a new technology and have designs on taking over the Federation. In "Death-Watch," Tarrant's brother acts as a champion in a well-mannered war between empires, which Servalan looks to disrupt for her own purposes. Plus, a Doctor assesses the medical accuracy of "Ultraworld," how has Karma punished Colonel Sanders, and does one feedbacker's powers of prediction mean he should be burnt as a witch?

In Dread Media's tribute to the legend Ernest Borgnine, two relatively obscure movies in his filmography are discussed. First up, Darryll loves train movies, and that is evident in his and Desmond's discussion of Emperor of the North. Then Devil Dinosaur Jr. gets all Satanic with a review of Devil's Rain in a brand new Stay Scary! Songs include: "Train in Vain (Stand by Me)" by The Clash, "I Am Ahab" by Mastodon, "Spill the Blood" by Slayer, and "The Black Hole" by The Misfits. The Empire Strikes Back. In 1980, those four simple, yet ominous words changed everything you thought you knew about cinema! Make sure to check out the Earth-2.net: The Show Shameless Pledge Drive by visiting http://forums.earth-2.net/index.php?showtopic=9344.

Honestly, these Power Records adaptations of the Planet of the Apes movies are awful. Horrible, lifeless, and poorly acted, even. And the twist ending of the first one lacks the power of its movie counterpart. But there's a certain retro charm about them. Sort of. The Commonwealth Crew is back, and this time they are discussing Ray Wise, Power Rangers, and Adrienne's "Barbeaus" in their review of Wes Craven's 1982 film Swamp Thing. Send feedback to: [email protected], or 206.203.1213. Follow us on Twitter @MuseumWalkerIan and @dreadmedia.

The Boys Outta Brooklyn commemorate the passing of the star of such films as The Wild Bunch, From Here to Eternity, and Escape from New York by inducting him into the Hall of Great, Great Men. Hear Tom and Derrick discuss a wonderful career that saw Ernest Borgnine play heroes and villains, goofs and tough guys, main characters and supporting guys, all with his trademark wolf's grin. Plus Eurocrime Expendables, what Snake Plissken and Jack Burton have in common besides being played by Kurt Russell, and a double feature of movies made when William Shatner was living in his van. You know you don't want to ride that train, so get to clicking!
