Earth-2.net Presents...

After seven long years, our old friend Jeff Strand has returned to chat about some of the multitude of books he's published since we last talked. The two books of focus are his brand new novel, Demonic, and his book on pre-order, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: The Novelization. Yes, you read that right. Then, Jeff sticks around and we do a Double Dread Media Top 5 Jeff Strand Books. Jeff picks his favourites, and Desmond picks a Jeff Strand Starter Kit of books. Songs included: "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" by John de Bello, "Let Me Bathe in Demonic Light" by The Mountain Goats, "Pressure Release" by Vitamin X, "A Dialogue in B Flat Minor" by In Flames. Already smack dab in the middle of the 1980s, Christian and first-time cohost Dave Probert brave The Black Cauldron - one of Disney's most infamous flops, as well as one of its darkest films. Does the songless saga transcend its familiar fantasy trappings and hellish production, or is it rightly regarded as a low point in the studio's output? Plus, between the review and the wrap-up, Donovan chimes in on The Jungle Book and Robin Hood, and Tom and Ian join Christian to respond.

This week on the show, Desmond and Duane finally sit down to talk about the horror comedy Hell Baby. Then Desmond goes solo on a Dread Media Top 5 Killer Baby Movies which is way harder than you think it is. Songs included: "Drinking about my baby" by The Damned, "Burn Baby" by L7, "Rosemary's Baby" by Fantomas, and "Sleep Tight Little Baby" by King Diamond. Send feedback to: [email protected]. Everyone at the Channel 37 Home Office is still on a beach somewhere, but that doesn't mean we aren't still watching goofy shit. The gang comes together to present 1966's Rat Pfink A Boo Boo, winner of the Cannes Etoile de platine award for Outstanding Achievement in Not Being a Typographical Error!

This week on the show, Desmond and Tom present a double feature of adjective-titled films from 2022. First up, in Glorious, a man is stuck in a public bathroom with an elder god who speaks to him through the gloryhole. Then, in Monstrous, Christina Ricci shines in a movie that doesn't. Songs included: "Sweet Evil Sun" by Candlemass, "The Glorious End" by Paradise Lost, "Mother" by Danzig, and "Bad Detective" by Lovelock. Send feedback to: [email protected]. Between bickering over key plot points and inadvertently reenacting a major disagreement the film's creators had, Christian and Emma dissect The Fox and the Hound - the first animated Disney film released during the 1980s, the one which prompted Don Bluth's exit from the company, and the first Kurt Russell-, Mickey Rooney-, or Corey Feldman-starring film either host saw. Is it cruelly overlooked or justly forgotten, and would it have been better or worse if Chief had actually died?

Gaspar Noe has always been a provocative filmmaker, and this week Desmond and Duane are checking out his latest provocative film, Lux Aeterna. Then Desmond goes solo on a Dread Media Top 5 Gaspar Noe Films (really, the five other Noe films he's seen in order from worst to best). Songs included: "Lux Aeterna" by Metallica, "Lux Aeterna" by Gyorgy Ligeti, "Ride the Void" by Holy Grail, and "The End of Endings" by The Howling Void. Send feedback to: [email protected]. This week, filmmaker Jason Eisener joins us to talk about his brand new sci fi / horror film, Kids vs Aliens, and a little bit about Dark Side of the Ring and Tales From the Territories. Then we do a Jason Eisener-themed Dread Media Top 5. Songs included: "Abduction" by Macabre, "After the Gold Rush" by Trio, "Stabbed to Death Outside San Juan" by The Mountain Goats, and "Patient Number 9" by Ozzy Osbourne feat. Jeff Beck (RIP). The Brothers Wilson proudly bring you Hey, An Actor's end of year episode for 2022, with the featured subject being comedy legend Mel Brooks! Taking in both The Producers and Blazing Saddles, Ian and Pandy discuss America's divergent Axis Powers focus, Carry On films, and The One Show. And of course, this episode brings about the regular favorites of Christian's Casting Challenge, The Archivist's curation of outtakes, and The Tomlinson Awards!

There's no case too big, or case too small. When you need help, just call. Ch-Ch-Ch-Chip and Da. Wait. Those rodents and that insect haven't teamed up yet? Setting this and other disappointments aside, Christian and newcomer-to-the-show Will Ackerman open 2023 by reviewing The Rescuers - featuring Bob Newhart, the villainess who would be Cruella, some rather unfortunate country tags, and yes, that nudity controversy.
