Take heed: werewolves, shape-shifters, and wild ghouls are coming out tonight! The full moon is nigh and Halloween is around the corner. Spooky spirits are in the air. The threshold between life and death has never been thinner. Do you know what's lurking the shadows?
But fear not! I put together a mixtape called "Howlin' at the Moon" to help you survive the dark nights ahead. Worst case is that if you can't beat the beasts, you can still join 'em. This one is for everybody giving 150% effort and only receiving 50% in return. You know what I mean. You earnestly try to be a good person, loving family member, faithful friend, generous neighbor, and hard worker, but at the end of the day you're wiped out. Let's not even mention the economic model which benefits the few while draining the rest of us. Oof.
Here's a mixtape that I strung together while having one of those weeks myself. Working three jobs had me dog-tired. Technology was on the fritz – and so was my mind! But sharing good music in community does wonders for the soul, even when our bodies feel exhausted. At the end of the day, we're just animals doing our best. In the face of neoliberal capitalist exploitation, remind yourself often: you matter and you are enough.
Take a break, kick your feet up, and melt into these tracks:
• "Cosmos 2000" by Sonido Gallo Negro ft. Kid Congo Powers
• "Cumbia Disco Energy" by Sonido Gallo Negro ft. Polymarchs
• "Desperation Breeds..." by Andrew Bird
• "Slow Motion" by Phox
• "Pink Moon" by Nick Drake
• "Summertime Clothes" by Animal Collective

• "Last Living Souls" by Gorillaz **just a teaser of the intro

Science fiction can help us make sense of this cyber absurdity. So here's the Data Doom mixtape for those of you who opposing corporate dystopia and seeking to build a more organic future.

Much gratitude for the talented WPKN DJ, Luis Luna, host of Módulo Lunar / The Lunar Module. Be sure to check out his show for diverse Latinx music from across the American Continent!
Music to energize everybody taking part in No Kings 3.0 (and 4.0 and 5.0 and 6.0+). Millions of people across the United States are rising up against the absurd corruption of the Trump regime, capitalogenic ecocide, and the systems responsible for causing the Sixth Mass Extinction we're living through.
I'm calling this one "March Against Madness." While many people are focused on their basketball brackets, the U.S. government is more than willing to fill barracks with sacrificial soldiers in yet another war frenzy over fossil fuels. Any system that places profits over people and planet is bonkers! That's why the People are rising up, speaking out, and taking action for the sake of their communities and ecosystems.
Get energized on these righteous tracks:

Black Ecologies | Earth Mixtape
To commemorate Black History Month 2026, Earth Mixtape celebrates Black histories, voices, and visionaries whose music gives expression to ecological realities—from legends like Marvin Gaye and Koko Taylor, to Afrofuturists Janelle Monáe and Kamasi Washington, Gil Scott-Heron's history lessons, winter rockin' from TV On The Radio, and many more.
Black voices have always been at the forefront of justice movements, and through music they teach how social and ecological and political issues intersect. In the spirit of listening, learning, and lifting up, Rusty Loon brings an hour of music by Black artists who emphasize environmental justice, joyful liberation, and rad consciousness raising.
