This month Pearl Wise meets Gini Simpson and Shamni Pithia from Music in Detention an organisation working with immigration detainees in the UK and Steve Lazarus host and producer of the podcast Your London Legacy. She takes a peek behind the scenes at new arts and culture venue Poplar Union and young musicians Rosie Frater-Taylor and Roella Oloro from the Jazznewblood collective play live ahead of their London Jazz Festival performance later this month.
