Another side bar into the wonderful world of Earthdawn 4e! After fighting the Basalist with level 1 Randos (GURPS), then trying  level 1 BFRPG characters, I decided I'd try my luck in Earthdawn as well. Turns out four cirlce 1 Adepts have a HARD time with a Basalisk in Earthdawn.

I take an evening to roll up some quick characters to emulate my GURPS party and played out the basalisk fight again in BFRPG to see how it feels and plays out in comparison to the my GURPS Randos experience (with which I am attempting to emulate "the feel" of OSR D&D).
