You can almost hear the residual Sonshine spirit in Austin’s voice in the wake of a massively successful Sonshine week!  On this edition of Weekly Worship, Austin talks about the challenges of displaying lyrics off a screen as opposed to reading them out of a hymn book.  While this can be a greatly effective way of displaying our song lyrics, we need to keep in mind that it can bring new challenges.  Specifically, the congregation is going to have to have prior knowledge of each song, and the musicians play by improvisation, instead of reading notes off a page.

Peter Nesbitt, Emmanuel’s School of Church Ministry intern, joins Austin for this episode of Weekly Worship.  The focus of today’s episode is our new-found zeal for the Prayer of Adoration in our services.  From 1 Timothy 2:8, we have committed to give intentional time to this prayer in our Sunday morning services.  Rather than using it as a chance to cover movement or to transition through the service, we are focused in on the prayer which has been prepared by a faithful man in our church to exalt the Lord and encourage our people.

In this episode of Weekly Worship, Austin talks about our next new song coming up Sunday:  Glorious Day by Kristian Stanfill.  As you learn the song, pay close attention to the message of the two verses and the contrast between them.  It all hinges on the phrase, “When I met You.”  This is a similar message to the other songs we have coming up, such as At Calvary.
