Join Austin Crawford, our Director of Worship here at Emmanuel, as he shares his heart & passion for this week’s worship service. He will be sharing his thinking behind the songs he has chosen for the service as well as encouraging us to prepare our hearts to worship together on Sunday.
You can almost hear the residual Sonshine spirit in Austin’s voice in the wake of a massively successful Sonshine week! On this edition of Weekly Worship, Austin talks about the challenges of displaying lyrics off a screen as opposed to reading them out of a hymn book. While this can be a greatly effective way of displaying our song lyrics, we need to keep in mind that it can bring new challenges. Specifically, the congregation is going to have to have prior knowledge of each song, and the musicians play by improvisation, instead of reading notes off a page.
This podcast is made specifically to help our church family defeat this problem: to get the songs out to the congregation before we get together on Sundays. Make sure you share this podcast and the songs we share on it! Remember, the most current episode can always be found on the “Get Ready For Sunday” page on the church website, or in the text we send out every Saturday.
You will want to familiarize yourself with this song: Rise Up, O Church of God. Isn’t this lyric incredible and convicting? “Rise up, o men of God! Have done with lesser things!”
