The first weekend in August is when the comic book world will gaze upon Columbus, Ohio, as Wizard World comes to town. For the first time ever, I will be attending this annual event. I will be at Brian Lau’s Staunch Ambition booth, helping out, podcasting and having fun. The guys from The 3 Geeks Podcast invited me to come on their podcast and talk about my expectations for Wizard World. Consider this a podcast team-up featuring The 3 Geeks Podcast and The PVDcast. You can check out our conversation here or jump on over to YouTube and catch episode #94 on The 3 Geeks Podcast channel.

Many people believe that it’s easy to write a movie or TV show. I mean all you need is one great idea, right? It is not as easy as you may think, as my guest on this edition of The PVDcast can attest to. David Gwinn sits down with me to discuss the process of writing for television and movies. David is the co-writer and a producer of the film, Dark Iris. He is also the man behind Ghost Entertainment, a local production company. David and I talk about the keys to being a successful writer and what pitfalls to avoid. Be aware that in our discussion, David and I may spoil Godzilla (2014) and Training Day, for anyone that hasn’t seen them. (But seriously, why haven’t you seen Training Day?)

“People still rent movies?” is probably a question most listeners will ask themselves as they listen to this episode of the PVDcast. First off, the answer is “yes”. And secondly, Video Central is the place to go to rent movies in Columbus, Ohio. The owner, Hannah, sits down with me to talk about the history of the store, how streaming and Red Box has impacted their business and the massive selection in the store. Hannah and I talk about our love of movies and some unique trivia related to the video rental profession. So, sit back and enjoy the cinematic splendor of this episode!
