California has the automotive community up in arms as they decide there will be no new fossil fuels cars sold in that State after 2035. While it sounds like the right things to do, it could become a nightmare to actually pull off.

Face it, COVID19 robbed sports fans of their passion for most of 2020. Don't tell anyone, but it will go deep into 2021 and every game we watch is going to change forever. Summer has forced a lot of fans to rediscover other parts of their lives, even....GASP!....family life and reading!!! Is it just possible sports as we know it will NEVER return?

When all is said and done, this could be the greatest and most expensive heavyweight title fight in boxing history, as Canelo Alvarez rocked outside the ring with a staggering lawsuit against Golden Boy Promotions, Oscar De La Hoya, and the beleaguered fight "network", DAZN or "Da Zone". What was once considered to be a new leader in televised boxing looks about to take the gaspipe any second now.

While there truly won't be a "post-COVID19" era because the virus will be with us over our lifetime and then some, there are changes on the horizon for high school athletics that boggle the mind. With so many schools in such desperate need of money, why not consider the creation of "Super Conferences" that will make their own rules and cash lots of their own checks?

There's a ground shaking upheaval and concern within the US military at the moment. President Donald Trump continues his vicious and personal attacks on those who serve, now going after leaders in the Pentagon and accusing them of war profiteering. Meantime, one little TikTok video has against raised the fear of more white supremacy within the ranks, with leadership doing almost nothing to tamp down what has been a long standing problem

Professional and amateur athletes exercising their First Amendment rights, and showing support for social causes, in large part the rising tide of violence against African-Americans. It has caused people in droves to swear they will never again watch a sport, support a University's athletic effort, or spend another nickel in tickets. It has also boiled up plenty of hate toward the athletes, much of it racially based.

John Elway will always be known for more than passing yards and Super Bowls. He was the first player out of college who had the audacity to not only turn down the most powerful franchise in Major League Baseball, the NY Yankees, but to be so brazen as to tell the might NFL where he would and would not play! Elway became the face of a franchise, the sporting soul of an entire State, and a legendary football Hall of Famer.

It seems no matter where you turn, there is a level of fierce anger at professional athletes for taking a social justice stand and delaying a few games. The NBA, NHL, MLB, WNBA and MLS all decided making a point about violence in America at the moment was more important than a mere game. For that, they are in many corners being excoriated. WHY?

Oscar De La Hoya may be a true legend in the sport of boxing, but he has made a decision that could haunt him for the rest of his life. There's a new superstar emerging inside the ring, and opponents need to be very wary of Tim Tsyzu.

High schools are opening, sometimes closing, just as quickly, and colleges are planning also on fall sports. All this while COVID19 cases continue to roll up frightening numbers. Is anyone actually listening to the warnings?
