Edmond Church of Christ Sermons

For many people, the past couple of years have been exhausting. When we sometimes find ourselves weary and burdened, we hear the gentle invitation of Jesus to come and find rest in Him.

(The message follows a special presentation of roses to mothers in the crowd.)

Seeking God isn’t about seeking God’s approval; you already have it. Seeking God is about humbling yourself, acknowledging your sin, and yielding to the power and presence of God in your life. God invites you to seek His face, and be forever changed as you encounter Him.

You are God's workmanship and His masterpiece. God has plans for you that include doing the good works He ordained for you. Keep letting God work on you.

Death brings a sense of despair, futility and finality. But Jesus has conquered death, and he invites all who are willing to enjoy everlasting life with him.

Some follow Jesus mainly for the tangible blessings he provides. But Jesus not only provides bread for our stomachs, he is the "Living Bread" that satisfies our souls. Don't walk away from Jesus because you hunger for the wrong things.

Jesus assures us he will keep watch over his people. Unlike a hired hand who is looking out for himself, the Good Shepherd leads us, protects us and lovingly sacrifices for us.

We are held together by Jesus. As branches connected to the Vine, Jesus provides life giving love to us and expects it to flow through us as we bear the fruit of his love. Remaining in him allows us to thrive, grow and become fruitful.

If you want to get to God, you must go through Jesus. In our world of pluralism and multiple paths, Jesus reveals the exclusive nature of his identity. He alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Jesus is both the source and supplier of these three things.

Jesus reveals his identity as the "Light of the World." In a world plagued by darkness and despair, Jesus is the only source of light and hope. He is a light to the nations and a beacon of hope for the world.
