In the third and final installment of the 2026 Italy series, listen in as we tackle the food capital of Italy and explore some of the finest mosaics in all of Europe! Bologna is an incredible city with breathtaking churches on every corner and mouth watering pasta in every restaurant. And if that wasn’t enough, Ravenna, home to 8 UNESCO World Heritage sites, is just an hour train ride away, boasting some of the best Byzantine mosaics in the world, making it a perfect day trip from the home of Bolognese!
Italy is full of incredible places, and while Rome, Florence, and Venice get most of the attention, smaller cities like Verona are doing just as much but with fewer crowds and better prices. Beautiful Venetian architecture, stunning ancient Roman ruins, and grand Renaissance churches make Verona a destination that will surely be growing more and more popular in the near future. Add to it the fact that it's within hours of several incredible day trips like Lake Garda and Padua, and you have a city that is worth taking up multiple days of your Italian Itinerary!
Rome, Florence, Venice? Not this time. Italy is an incredibly diverse country and in this episode we will explore the Northernmost region: The Italian Alps! Last summer, with the addition of Tanzania, I was able to make the claim of having visited 25% of the world’s countries. With this accomplishment in mind, I wanted to rank my personal top 25% of those 48 countries! While it’s all personal opinion, I scored each country on the following categories: People, history, activities, tourist infrastructure, food, transportation, and then my own personal ranking, added them all together, and voila! A ranked list of countries. While it’s not perfect, I think this is a solid list and I’m excited to share my top 10 (plus 3 honorable mentions) with you and tell you why they’re some of my favorite places!

Vienna is in a very central location and is a perfect stop along the Danube as you travel across Central Europe. The palaces and world-renowned art museums are sure to make your stay memorable and worthwhile!
